Shaun Johnson

Shaun Johnson is the founding Chief Executive of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation in Cape Town, which is dedicated to building exceptional leadership capacity in Africa in the name of Nelson Mandela. In 2006 he also served as Chief Executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg. Before being asked to devote himself to Mr. Mandela’s charitable work, he was one of South Africa’s foremost political journalists. He served as editor of several major newspapers and founded The Sunday Independent, the first new newspaper of democratic South Africa, in 1995. Close.
