In Israel, No Change for Change’s Sake

Israelis want change, but they also want experience, even if that means choosing someone who only recently was widely considered a failed leader.

janice seibert:

in the first place giving the palestinians land for peace will never work.you gave them gaza, dumb move, what do they do? send rockets into israel every day. secondly, God gave israel to the jewish people and said that no one is to take the land away from israel the land will most likely be devided and then God will be very unhappy, but whos afraid of God?since were so much powerful and smarter than God. i guess God will just have to say oh-well and sit back and cry and do nothing you guess?

Ahmed:

Since Ben-Gurion, Israel's leaders have been ruthless gangsters who do not flinch from massacring Palestinians and carrying out ethnic cleansing. Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir were the original Middle East terrorists who taught everyone else.

So how can one talk about "competent" or "honest" leaders? To survive, Israel needs killers, criminals and racists to lead it, just like Apartheid South Africa or the US South in the time of apartheid there. When Israel has honest leaders then there will be peace. But such leaders will not be from the current crop.

Salamon:

Were the Israeli voters so stupid that in the next election they would elect some Zionist warmonger [ a la Omert, Sharon, etc] they will seal their fate into totally amoral state as reflected by your Supreme Court with respect to the most recent ruling against the human inhabitants of your occupied territories/Gaza. Your Stock of A bombs will be of little consoliation when you as a nation will be despised all over the world. Were the USA view of Israel change, that would be the seminal opening of the end of Theocratic/Zionist Israel.

So look for major change as a form of self preservation of your nation and of your culture - for without your culture you are a failed state.
