Chaotician:

I am sick to death of American interventionism around the world! Isn't it time for the rest of the world to tell America to just go home? First off, American's are at best traders, economic opportunists, and really, really bad at running anything...especially a world that has no relationship to anything known as American...except of course that pillar of Americanism...the Mall! Most Americans do not even have a passport, never left the country, and are totally ignorant of the world past their front door! If that is not bad enough, the foreign policy wonks are dominated by Straussian Neo-Cons, Corporate exploiters, Christian Armageddon hopes and aspirations! A new world order is urgently needed; the UN is hopelessly organized based on the victors of a war long over; and economic conditions long ended. With the world’s population rapidly going to 9 Billion; war is hopelessly stupid economic choice, wasting untold Billions of dwindling resources, depleting environmental reserves, and diverting attention from critical issues of environmental degradation, depleted mineral resources, lack of water, air, and soil needed for the survival of us all. The American basis for economics, endless growth, is being revealed to be one more false myth; truly, the American successes are really the result of “mining” the real wealth of the nation; now that the water is used up, the soil is depleted, the air is polluted, the minerals extracted, and the rest of the world is no longer America’s to buy; we have become the debtor of the world, mortgaging what remains to those with Oil and trinkets! What will we do when those payments become due?

Mr. Wachai, welcome to Post Global, I don't think I've seen you here before. I think we will benefit from having your insight.

Amar Deep Singh:

Problem is not just terrorism it is who is more powerful and to sustain that power in world.
Major powers do not want other countries to grow and try to block their way politically, moneterywise and also militry wise. That why all the time bush and his team says all the options are on table. They do not understand on what place they have bring to this peaceful world.

George Robertson:

I hate the term "war on terror" because the actual situation is not a war, for the United States. We elevate the status of people like Al Qaeda by refering to this as a war, instead of labeling them as the criminals they are. It's less than a war but more than a normal law enforcement situation. Also, I see no reason why we cannot deal with this on the ground through use of the US Marshalls service and the US military, instead of these CIA "renditions". This is just another instance of US foreign policy being twisted to suit the needs of Israel, for whom this is actually a war for their existence. We in the US should not be at war with Islam, even so-called "radical" Islam, only with those criminals who want to use the trappings of a legitimate religion to attack the US and western countries and the people in them. We have criminal statutes to use against such nutcases, and we should use them. We also have a military which can take on armed groups, and we should use them when needed. And both should be used pro-actively, not re-actively. But to call this a war just elevates the status of those who fight against civilization.
