Utter nonsense.

There are no dilemnas. It is cowards who talk of dilemnas.

Courageous know, how to take stands and on which side.

If people like you do not become opportunists , giving false suggestions and aiding Bush administration, those blood stains atleast would have been reduced. Even if it reduced 0.1% it would have mattered.

In the ultimate analysis, you cannot blame everything on Bush and escape by washing off your hands. It matters how much you overtly or covertly, silently or openly signalled and supported Bush and his boot lickers, spoons and bowls.

If Bush goes to Hell, for crimes being committed against humanity, you are part of the deal, for you are aiding him.

Knower of all Secrets, knows better, how much you are part of Bush and Blair agenda than being on your own.

Now stop talking philosophy of Sufism.

If you really cared you will close down your newspaper propagating lies and falsehood and will find some respect in some other modest job, instead of living the life of propagating lies.

That would have reduced blood stained dilemnas, atleast from you.

Well, many people believe we are living in the worst of times. Obviously the writer implies that and he is referring to American invasion of Iraq and it's forein policy. But if one reads history of mankind, one will come to realise, we are living in the best of times. Most countries are living in countries where their leaders are elected. Most counries that are ruled by unelected leaders are countries where the people are mostly muslims. Sepatatist movements are in countries where there are minority muslims. Islam means submission. One friend of mine, a muslim said but it is submission to god. But I said unto him since that god doesn't speak, it is mullas Muslims submit to. Mullas give fatwa to any one who questions Islam's faults but don't give fatwa to terrorists like Osama bin Laden. Mullas don't believe in democracy, because koran forbids it. Any one who believes koran is the word of god can't become a democrat. He/she is a hypocrite if he/she proclaims belief in democracy. Democray and Islam can't coexist.

Sami

Thanks -- but that was obvious.

I think the writer actually (and probably correctly, given the limitations of translation) is presenting what must be a tongue-in-cheek proverb since it is addressed to a "vicious circle" -- making it bigger only compounds the problem. His comment about explaining the bloodstained circles tells that he understood the issue better than you did.

The first rule of holes corresponds to the proverb.

Good luck with enhancing your comprehension skills.

Sami:

I think the words used is a "circle" not a hole. The emphasis shifts from depth to width.

Anonymous:

I agree with the comment that this is a silly proverb -- just make a bigger mess.

What I love is this:

What is the FIRST rule of holes?

When you find yourself in one, stop digging.

So much for making a bigger hole. Sufi, eh? Sounds Doofy.

Sami:

In other words you create a bigger mess so people forget the mess you have left behind!
Really? I dont think so.
Some memories are lasting.
