No people on this planet are waging jihad(war) against people of othe faith exept Muslims. Examples are

1) Tomthy McBae didn't bomb in the name of his christian faith.
2) IRA didn't fight in the name of religion.
2) Tigers are not fighting in the name of their religion.

Islam spread by the swrod. Mohammad started to use war to convert other people. He called it jihad.

Following methods were used by Mohammad and his followers after his death.

Invade other peoples lands. Loot their properties. Give one fifth to Mosque and divide the rest among Muslim warriors.
1) invite the people to accpt Islam.
2) if they refuse ask them to accept to live under Muslim protection as Dhimmis, paying double taxes.
3) If they refuse 1) and 2) kill them.

That is how Islam spread. Mr. Akbar is defending Islam. He claims Islam didn't spread by the sword. Like Mohammad he believes in deception. He may be the best Muslim in your country of India. Even the best Muslim can't accept the truth.

Roman Pope quoted what Byzontine emperor wrote to a Muslim scholar. Islamic world erupted in rage. They killed one nun and torched some churches in Palestine. Every one is asking Pope to apolagise. The reaction of Muslims shows Islam is a violent religion. How can any one in his/her right mind believe Islam is a peaceful religion. It is a religion whose last days on earth are near. Many Muslims are not leaving Islam out of fear of death. Mr. Akbar can't leave his religion even if he want to. He will be killed if he leaves. That is Islam. Convert others by force, kill if any one leaves. Can this be called a religion.

Mohammad is anti Christ. A war is going to take place.

It is not G8's responsibility to create jobs.
Ungainful employment is all they will create through these subsidies.
All one has to do is to look at Iran.
Oil money has allowed them to keep a good deal of people underproductively employed.
In indias case most of 'public sector' and government employees are unproductively employed...
Why should the G8 repeat silly mistakes when the evidence from the fabians to communists of such programs has been dismal.
A better question should be for the Oil Wealthy Middle Eastern Countries(especialy the one that rhymes with Gaudi) to subsidize non religious scientific and professional education in such places instead of terrorist breeding education centers.

So what makes people terrorist. One main reason is the ideology. For Islamic terrorism it is the ideology or Jihad and the killing associated with it. People are made to believe in this ideology of hate and killing. An example is Osama Bin Laden himself. He was one of the richest persons and also he had good education. He was a Civil engineer by profession. Still he became a terrorist who orders to kill people because he was made to believe in the ideology of Jihadi Islam by his cleric. Till not he has killed so many innocent people which include children who even don't know what is a religion

Bharat, this is the problem of watching and believing whatever the media tells u.
wE INDIANS HAVEHAD INDEPENDENCE FOR 50 YEARS. But we cannot show much development for the common man. every where you go there is corruption. The politicians are money maniacs and not interested in the common man. We have to make the politicians accountable. If this goes on, religious fundamentalism takes root and religious people are not wrong.

Mr Bharat's analysis of the causes of terrorism raises a lot of questions. First of all India was never a poor country until the British drained it of its wealth.
If Islam is the main cause of terrorism then by that reasoning then the Basques in Spain, the IRA in Ireland and the LTTE and the Irgun & Stern of Israel must also be muslims. The Naxals in India who are growing in leaps and bounds also must be muslims.
Terrorism starts when a party has a grievance(feels oppressed) and does not have the means of redressal of his grievances in a political manner.
I would like to quote the example of the British government after the london bombings where they set up a special committe of 64 members(if I remember correctly) which included members from the muslim community to study the causes and recommend actions to avoid such incidents.I am sure they will be more successful than the US or Israel.

Education or wealth will never stop terrrorism nor it is the main reason for terrorism. India and Indians were poor for many centuries and did it produce one billion terrorists. Never.

Education is good only if it leads to some jobs at the end of the education.

Education is probably a self fulfilling prophecy of creating more ineqality and more injustice. Education is not the problem, the educated people with the intention of deceit for personal gain is.

This type of wisdom is missing from the world leaders today. I wish someone would do something else rather than put more gas to the flames... education would be a refreshing stream of water to quell this fire that is raging all over the world.

MJ Akbar the respected Indian columnist sounds so naive. He really thinks that the superpowers may be interested in tackling the core issues, that some sort of economic incentives can cure the world of this malaise and fight terrorism with "butter".
Wars are fought because a militarily stronger power wants greater control over the resources and wealth. Wishful thinking and expressions of pious hope is probably a safe career choice for a journalist especially one from the Indian subcontinent who has risen to such eminence. As Tallyrand said " speech was given to man so that he may conceale his thoughts" and yet remain politically correct. Reminds me of the Chinese diplomat who told the mighty Ghengis Khan that if he killed all the Chinese than who will take care of his horses. And look today the Chinese are over a billion strong. I suspect MJ Akbar is probably not so naive after all.
