China will be a threat to its neighbous by restrcting their trade and economic power particularly those countries separated by either long distances or sea e.g. Japan or will try to twist the arms of countries like India economically and militarily in collusion with intrinsically inimical states like Pakistan fuelled by fires of quarrelsome political structure of Indian democracy.China too will be a threat to world peace because of its increasing role in manipulating the natural resources of dependent poor countries and arming them with lethal weapons. The result would be proliferation of nuclear weaponary all over the globe for deterrance and unstable world or it could be a change towards status quo.
The balance of power is an important factor in stabilisation of the world ,particularly for smaller states. You have to have strong nations who stand for freedom of the weak and good. There are mighty democratic nations who would bleed themselves for others for right or wrong causes and even for vested interest of rulers.India for example would have been devoured long time back by the combined might of China-Pak nexus and possibly Bangladesh speaking futuristically. What holds them back is Western hidden and open support to India,s integrity. This has happened in past in 1962,when China withdrew from Indian terrirories under threat from Kennedy of possible strike against China which could mean even a nuclear one.Gen Paul Adams of pacific Command visited India on 22 Nov 1962.Remember China occupied Tibet just it was weak and India was taken by surprise and cooly couldnot do any thing because of its poor political leadership.China will be a threat only to its neighbours for stategic and economic reasons. It has to have more land for its growing populaton and expanding economy. This can be only at India,s expense because its territories in North- East is extremely rich rather the richest in the world as far as the Hydroelectric, water and forest resources are concerned .China is short of good land and natural resources. It is waitng for an oppertunity for weak India and West. The day America becomes isolated and unconcerned or it becomes economically and militarily weak, Nations like China and other dictatorial regimes will have a field day in supressing the poor ,powerless nations into subjugation.History is witness to atrocities commited by such tyrant nations in past bygone era.The fierce power of America will deter Chinese from indulging in such acts. The powerless America will let loose the world into mayhem and perpetual violence upon the week nations. The American inetervention like Iraq war cannot be justified but world without American power will have more violence in other forms.A undemocratic China will ever be a threat for world in general and to its neighbours in particular who donot toe to its territorial and resource hungry demands. Therefore it is important to have a new global economic and democratic order with sufficient regional power blocks to check its hegemony.America has not swallowed any nation in totality as the Chinese have done to Tibet. It is a different matter that it would not be able to digest it in the long run, after all the law of nature levels the most of the most tyrants but tnen nature takes its toll by centuries rather than by the impulsive few moments like short thoughtless blitzs as is been seen in Iraq. The world and neighbours first should keep their house in order.A house divided on itself will in any case fall itself and the nations like China and the Quislings will finish and destroy the nations and its destiny possibly for ever. The Chinese threat to world and its neighbors will lessen if it adopts democracy as its norm and frees the occupied and enslaved people of Tibet so that it is confined to its natural boundaries and free world forces it to grant freedom to Tibet.Till that it happens it would further encourage it to do many more Tibets. It is surprising how India and America didnot join togather to check Chinese onslaught on Tibet.Perhaps America was too busy with Korean war and India too weak at that moment .A constant alertness and focussed deterrent watch on China by free world would lessen its threat to rest of the world. But before that the principle of practice before preaching has to be kept in the mind and people taken into confidence for the actions of leadres of mighty free world.
The author is from Hungary, I am sure that he would think differently if he were from the United States. China is or will be challenging the US power, of course it is a threat.
