Hungarians aren’t numb enough to listen to Bush’s speeches in the first place.

Bela:

It is a matter of crazyness I think. The middle east is full of hate going back past many generations. Now this hate has all this oil money. What happens when you have billionaire terrorists and egomaniacs? Well it is like Japan invading Korea, like the US spanish war, like Germany invading poland, switzerland, and nederland.

So here we are. Some of us have our hands in our pockets and kick stones at the big kids who are doing something while we watch wistfully, ashamed of ourselves, trapped in a failure where we will do nothing except flap our cheeks and gums like old women at the market..

What is moderation? How does a rock slide stop? It needs to have some opposing force.

Thank you people that have the backbone to apply opposing force. I am sorry I contribute nothing to support you, but I will be there to cheer you home after the dirty thing is done.

Robert:

Dear Tibor,

Only a small percentage of Hungrians supported this war in Irag. In a true Democarcy the Gov't should really pay attention to what the peoples' want and are saying. The Present Government is not a Democratic one at all but a recreation of a Dictatorship from a persons Childhood Dream, and is only doing this for the so called Brownie Points and look what the result was and is, still Visa's for Hungarians to go to America for a Holiday for example?? You would be suprised how many Hungarians have money to spend. We are planning to spend the Holidays with in the States my Hungarian Friends but we first go to NY for Christman, then SF for the New Year and finally HI for a rest period. We will spend a month for our supposed Holidays.

I as an American am not happy with this War at all plus living in Hungary I see all the fall backs that this has created for me and Hungrians.

Robert:

Tom, point well taken but I will quote and unquote Bush's reason for invading Irag. "Weapons of Mass Destruction". The result, NON FOUND even the UN had to stop looking for their was not such thing at all. Desert Storm.

Nuclear Weapons are all dangerous especially if a Country that never got punished for using one on a Country and it still allowed to produce the crap. Does not matter becuae of a War or not in my eyes.

Tibor:

Please note this is not the view of all Hungarians. While many do have this view, there are many of us who support this American war because we realize it needs to be done.

I am no extremist but I did not forget what happened at Eger, Mohacs and other places.

If the terrorist are not taken care of now, this could happen again.

I am happy you Americans are doing what my country will not. The problem in my country is people are poor and it is easy to blame you for our own problems. One day we will fix ourselves before we blame others. We used to believe this.

Thank You U.S.,

Tibor

Tom Miller:

I'm not surprised that after Bush's wrong-strategy Iraqi disaster that many in the world ignore his statements but I wonder if this means that the same "many" don't apply this statement to Iran and their nuclear ambitions:

"...but every country's nuclear program is dangerous—including that of ........."

I believe if the world is so over-numbed with anti-Bush obsession to ignore the dangers of the nuclear ambitions of Mr. Ahmadinejad that it will reap what it sows. It's one thing to be numbed and another to be complaisant.

well- i was a bit numb with disbelief when i saw bush speaking- there was a journalist immediately following the speech who actually questioned bush's mental stability- whereupon chris matthews pounced and said, "did you just say bush is mentally unstable?" whereupon she backtracked and said she had 'questioned ' it.
but i didnt hear anyone disagreeing.

also i watched something where a psychologist made an at a distance assessment of bush- heres a snip-

'Bush On The Couch' - A Psychiatric Personality Assessment of President George Bush

"Consortium news has published an amazing article by psychiatrist Justin Frank, author of Bush on the Couch. Dr. Frank conducts an 'at-a-distance leader personality assessment' to assess the potential dangers of President George W. Bush as he comes to the final stage of his presidency.

The results are chilling. The conclusion is that the President of the United States of America suffers from an aggressive personality disorder. Dr. Frank suggests some possible countermeasures to constrain Bush."

Arminius:

Here's a comment from an American, born here, a veteran.

I got a good laugh from Mr. Vamos' offering. Many of us here do not pay attention to the rambling words of the Shrub (= Bush, = Darth Dubya). He and his neocon friends have wreaked untold harm on Iraq, America, and the Mideast.

His ego trip into Iraq has been the greatest disaster in American history. I will say that our attack on Al Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan was justified. Indeed, if they would have taken a man nearly 60 years old, I would have gone to help. But Bush has screwed that one up too.

A majority of Americans now agree that the Iraq war was a great mistake. There is hope for us yet.

With respect,

Arminius

Robert:

Sorry for my typo errors, coffee did not kick in yet. Too early in the a.m. at this time. Both other comments was totally refreshing to hear and here I thought that I was the only one that felt this way. I was born in the Philippines and my father was miltary.

Adam Janos Soos:

I agree with Miklós Vámos, whom I had the luck meeting breefly, after an on-stage interview of his with the rock band Omega.
I am a Hungarian-American living in Hungary now, but I lived stateside when all this began. People were prety much gung ho! at that time, just like at the beginning of Vietnam. Sure, its "fun" to whatch from their armchair the BOYS doing it to THEM from far away by planes and rackets, but fortunetly reality sets in eventually. People do die in there, and not thousands, as the american casualties usually are, but sometimes millions. And for what! Securing our oil futures. If human rights were the issue with Hussein, we could have made war on the Marcos' in the Phillippins, instead of offering them safe heaven in Hawaii, so they were able to spend the millions cheated out of the worlds' purest (at that time)people.
Rhetorics, and LIES presented to THE GREAT BODY of the UN by secretary Powell, WHAT ALWAYS SEEMS TO WORK for Presidents, who cannot handle the domestic issues - poverty, health care for all, Soc. Sec.,etc.

With regards,
Adam Janos Soos

Observer:

Bush and his policies are classical manifestations of all those things that were taught about imperialism, American capitalism and fascism. Bush who refers himself as the Commander in Chief ("the Fuehrer" called also Hitler) is as a pathological person as Hitler was, a representative of the politician grabbing and adhering to the political power for the military-industrial complex, just like Hitler did; wants to cover up his failures in internal politics with starting another war abroad (Iran); a war criminal and murderer not to a lesser extent than Saddam Hussein could be; uneducated and inept who really believes that GOD made him President. There is an American saying that you need license for everything but every idiot can be a parent. Now, you can modify this: "One needs to have a license in the U.S for everything, except the Presidency if you are stupid enough to believe that Jesus Christ had risen from the Bush (family), and had become the greatest philosopher of all times.

And the weak and indecisive Democrats just watch how Busch laughs at them and cheats them out of the leadership the third (and fourth) time.

Robert:

I agree with Miklós Vámos, he said it right on the dot. I am an American who happens to live in Hungary amd I am not offended at all but welcome your comments. Bush should first be impeached and all of his supportors should stand trial but at the famous Cuban Prison awaiting thier jusdgements. Bush if impeached should go to prison for many years not for what he believes in but for just the downright lies that he has been saying all these years behind his authority and postion.
