Hungary's Reaction: Say What?

BUDAPEST - I am sorry to admit it, but Hungarians don’t pay any attention. Hungarians are dumb sometimes, but they’re not numb enough to listen to President Bush’s speeches. I hope my statement is not too offensive to Americans – though even if it is, that doesn’t mean it’s not correct.

Frankly, I think President Bush is giving such speeches because his staff can’t think of anything better to support him. Very few people anywhere in the world believe that the Bush wars make any sense. Those who do often justify why in the name of God U.S. troops are over there anyway by noting how dangerous these countries are. That's true, but every country's nuclear program is dangerous—including that of the great United States of America.

The U.S. needs to come up with a solution to end the Bush wars. That means accepting that Americans cannot solve certain countries’ problems, including Iraq’s. But then, who can solve the problems of nations and continents? God only knows.
