Budapest, Hungary - Even if Mr. Abbas holds a very negative opinion of the Palestinian Parliament, he still better deal with it.

Dear Zoltán,
Are the other politicians any better? All the Prime Ministers could be caught on lies since 1990 (the fall of socialism), and none of them said they would like to stop.
Even Mr. Orban lied a few times, and he didn't resign either. And that's OK. Parties and politiciand have the elections promises, and no one believes they can keep them.
The end of democracy is when a party or politician calls people into the streets and try to force the Parliament or the Government to do something. I know the parliamentary methods are slow and not too effective, but this is how democracy works.
Best from Budapest,

"But those who lead the opposition were outraged by the Prime Minister's remarks."
I don't think so. They were outraged by the way he (Gyurcsany) lied about the situation to be elected: "The situation is good, we'll lower taxes and rise salaries". And the opposite happened: he rises taxes and lowers salaries.
If such a "szélhàmos" is allowed to stay in power it means the next time any politician will say whatever pleases him, and if he's elected will do whatever (other eventually) pleases him. With NO consequences ? This is the end of democracy.
