Budapest, Hungary -- For the White House, the result of the Mexican election can't be as good as it is hoped or as bad as it is feared. So here's my message to anybody in the U.S. administration who happens...

The only real concern I have over a Mexican government is whether its one that will respect the US southern border. Might as well be urinating into a gale force wind for all the hopes THAT will ever happen. For now, the Mexican economy is less determined by by policy coming out of Mexico City than by what's passing through Western Union on its way south...
Its interesting that Europe has similar headaches with respect to Africa, but then the Mediterranean makes for a better southern border marker than the Rio Grande.

mexico will suffer, and much, if lopez obrador gets his two feet into the national government. if he has managed to have almost everyone forget about his wheelings and dealings in the city government, and all of his secret profiteering through third parties (bejarano, rosario robles, and others....)this man consistently lies and pushes people on to a world of "alice and wonderland" let us hope that, (for the benefit of mexico) this man does not become a decision taker for such a great country as mexico is today...amen

We have already seen this type of political leaders throughout Latin America, i.e., "Free Traders, Subsidizers and Revolutionaries." Once, they are elected, they don't do much, except increase their bank accounts in Panama, Switzerland or the Cayman Ilands. This explains why Latin America continues to be underdeveloped.
So why would Americans bother who is elected President in Mexico?

The question was not the effect of this election on Mexico, but its effect on the international relationshops of the US, wasn't it? This is just for the records: before other Mexicans try to defend their country from me. I am harmless, and thinking about issues never hurts, even when the thinker lives far away from the issue.

I'm mexican and I don't know much of hungarian politics, so the author of "Trader, Subsidizer, Revolutionary? Doesn't Matter" shows about Mexico's politics. Why don't we let the real experts comment about this issues so we can have disscussions with more quality?

As a middle class well educated mexican, I will have to choose between Ibiza (Spain) or Galveston (USA), both are playas (beaches). This may reflect the choice between leading candidates.
