America the Dangerous

Considering the status of the United States as the strongest superpower in history, it is indeed a greater threat to world peace than Iran.

Indeed, Iran might be a regional threat, but it is U.S. actions that have brought havoc to Iraq and, by default, increased Tehran's influence. It was the U.S. that invaded Iraq, waged a disastrous "war against terror", supports the Israeli occupation, and coerces foreign governments into submission.

Our region is less safe since the invasion of Iraq. Arab governments may accept an alliance with the U.S. against Iran -- for fear of Iran’s influence -- but that does not mean that the governments or the people believe that Washington's policies are not destructive.

Since the beginning of the "war on terror", Al Qaeda has spread its wings, inspiring thousands of frustrated men and Islamic groups into emulating its tactics and endorsing its message.

Bush's appearances on Al Jazeera incite more rage against America than all Al Zawihri tapes. Bush and American officials have no clue what impact their threats have on people in the region. Bush and American officials on Al Jazeera and other Arab television programs produce the strongest anti-American propaganda of all. When combined with the impact of American actions in the region, the results are terrible.

U.S. danger also comes from its total disregard of international law and human rights conventions. It demands Iran reveal its nuclear program while the U.S. continues its own unabated. The justification that Washington is a democracy while Iran is not is just a pretext to justify this double standard. And it does not stand the test of history.

It was the United States, the leader of the Democratic World, and not Iran that used atomic bombs to wipe out Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The U.S. may like to gloat about its "moral exceptionalism" but the rest of the World does not to accept such self-serving grandiosity.

Washington uses naked military power to achieve its goals. Thanks to U.S. police, the principle of "Might is Right" has eclipsed international conventions and universal values. The U.S. has turned the world into a dictatorship under its own rule. This is extremely dangerous.
