Promoting the rights of women is inherently "pro-democracy." The two concepts cannot be separated. If giving grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends the rights to be treated as equal to other human beings is threatening to Iran's system of governance, then there is something unfair and unjust about that system. Wouldn't you agree?
