The modern Conservatives; The Republican Party; has a deep desire to control other people's lives, and see The Muslim Teachings as an obstacle to the their planned advancement around the globe. The Republican's are not concerned with religion of any nature; christian or muslim; they are concerned with power and money, omn a global level. While the Republcian Party keep's everyone arguing about their own religious beliefs, they are using our grandchildren's money to foster a war against people's freedom's around the globe, and have been doing so for many years. The Bush's termed it the War on Drugs, Terror, etc, fill in the blank. All these War's on eventually disappear and the American people are left with an enourmous bill to pay off. The last person to pay down that debt was Presdient Clinton.

Every Religion has the same fundamental opportunity to remain as a religious practice as long as there are people that correctly practice the religion and teach their religion correctly to others. The world will never be a monolithic religion because the people are so diverse. However the world's inhabitants can be dignified and respectful to one another.

Fashion should not interfere with morale's and beliefs, nor should fashion should be construed as an expression of religious belief, but a expression of self alone, and no more.

Religion should reflect religious beliefs and not be inflected into ethical behaviour beyond a personal level. However, ethical behaviour should be a concern of law not religion and an expression of personal and collected standards of conduct. Perhaps this is the reason our founding father's gave us the legacy of the separation of church and state, separating our personal ehtical behaviour from our collected ethical behaviour.

Religion's exist to bring happiness to people. Respecting one another is the beginning point of that happiness, many philosphers have offered.

Respect is not just a word but an all encompassing action infused with the understanding and dignity of equality, otherwise the respect is just hypocrtical and not genuine. People can tell the difference between the two. What people wear should not effect our ability to respect them to the utmost, unless we are not being genuinely respectful.

The correct analogy is

Mecca and Medina are like Rome. There are mosques in Rome.

The Vatican is inside Rome, a small part of Rome.

The kaaba is inside Mecca, a small part of it.

Mosques and even protestant churches are banned inside the Vatican which has the St. Pete cathedral. But Muslims are allowed to visit the Vatican and go inside the St. Pete Cathdral.

Muslims should allow the building of churches in Mecca and Median.

Why is everyone so pressed about the issue of non-Muslim visiting Mecca or Medina? Is there gold there? Is there some hidden treasure? Who cares!!!

When I was a practising Muslims I began to read the Muslim books. the following hadith devastated me. I realized that Muhammad was a racist and that he fully belived in the evil system of slavery. I am muslem and born and raised in America. Although my mother and father are not religious muslems, at age 21 and 25 my sisters surprised the family and started wearing the headscarf. Now, my mother started wearing it. A lot of times, people find religion later in life i guess. Kind of like when older people find Jesus? Hijab including the head cover for Muslim women is a STATEMENT of Modesty and Piety and according to a majority of Islamic scholars is prescribed by the Koran; therefore the Hijab was not meant as a separate cultural identity in the first place-but seen and erroneously interpreted in the west in contrast to and within the new cultural context of Western societies to which the Muslims immigrated looking for freedom and opportunity. Modesty is an Islamic code of behavior, both for men and women and for women Hijab is only one outward manifestation of that Modesty.

Niqab-fully covering the face-is not Islamic at all in any way, shape or form and so is the Burqo-the trade mark of the Taliban rule in Afghanistan and only in such instance is a repression of women. Am asking those who wear or demand the wearing of the Niqab or the Burqo to show us any Quranic or Prophetic injunction or proof that the Niqab is Islamic. I have never read or heard that a single Muslim woman is reported to have put on a Niqab or Burqo during the era of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) which is the example par excellence for Muslims to emulate. Both Niqab and Burqo are impractical and a self-imposed burden…i.e. for airport security or a photo for a drivers license.

Muslim women should not be forced to wear Hijab or head cover but also they should not be forced to remove it. In principle, therefore, those who impose Niqab and Burqo on Muslim women and those who force them to remove Hijab are equally repressive.

However, Muslims living in West need to be sensitive to the culture and values of their new homelands as Westerners do when they are in Muslim countries; Muslims need to and can integrate into their new societies while being true to their Islamic faith: Islam has that much built-in flexibility and adaptability and for over fourteen centuries proved it’s universality across all major world cultures.

Bashing of Muslims on every occasion by western media, Xenophobia, predijuice, racism and especially stereotyping of Islam and Muslims, linking Islam and Muslims to violence and terrorism should end once and for all as its unfair, counterproductive and creates a siege mentality among Muslims and hinders their integration into western societies. Such practices not only offend Muslims but it also inflicts untold pain and agony on them.

When you say that America have to protect non American’s right’s what you mean by that. And how exactly that is being done. When you go to a county you are obligated to adhere by the laws of that county, if you commit a crime in USA you should be punished to the maximum. And when you are in America you should be subject to the same law that everyone in America follows. There is only one criminal law in the USA that covers everyone, granted there are some unusual cases but they are not the norm. Obviously you do not have the same civic rights as American citizens and you should not as a non citizen.

Why should American law protect non-Americans? Its not like Americans can safely assume the same when we visit other countries, so what's in it for us?

Western Society thinking they can tell other what to wear and how to act. Perhaps the US should consider they have no rights to tell others how to act until they learn how to act correctly; no torture, habaeus corpus for all humans, etc. America has the nerve to tell Muslims how to dress. Free choice for everyoe including the rest of the world.

I think the issue with religion and individual rights are often confused. One have the freedom of not believing in any religion, but do not have the right to dictate or tailor religion to their own likings. I am aware of the fact that each society treat the same religion differently, what I mean here is a lot of so called religious believes have nothing to do with teaching of side religion, but came from local customs. Many Muslim societies take the woman dressing (covering) to a extreme levels an example of that is Afghanistan. Many of the so called traditional Islamic dress came from local customs. Living in the USA you get the choice of not wearing a headscarf or not, but you do not have the choice of wearing a bikini to the local mall. You have adhere to local customs and what is acceptable is dictated buy society. I am not really sure where notion that when woman have to ware a headscarf they are being oppressed or subjugated comes from. You personal freedom end when you become a part of larger group or society, also you are free to do what you want but there is always a price to pay, The question is are you willing to pay that price. You will never be able to change how people think. You have the freedom so dose everyone else, when you are in Rome you got do what the Roman do

Get a life. you know now what you speak. I am an Arab American, originally from Sudan. I have 9 aunts, 2 maternal, 7 paternal. One of my mother's sisters wears a headscarf or hijab (which is covering of the hair), and two of my father's sisters do as well. They had made these decisions independently and no one pressured them to do so. In fact in my liberal family a few scoffed at their choice, including my maternal grandmother who strongly resisted the idea that her daughter would wear the hijab. Hijab, like all matters religious, is a personal decision and should be a personal choice. When it is not, as in Saudi and Iran (the only two countries where Hijab is mandated by the government), its imposition should be protested. But to assume that every woman wearing hijab is tortured and enslaved is ignorant, eurocentric and hostile to the extreme.

Religious freedom...the ultimate oxymoron. But hey, if they're having fun with it, let'em enjoy themselves.

The question of whether or not to cover their heads for them is realy a matter of choice and IT IS THEIRS ALONE TO DESIDE.Yes,unfortunately they have no any freedom to choose.Most of subjugated girls and women are wearing head scarf because of fearing.The real Fear Book should be written for muslim women indeed.Someones may say It is my choice,no,no not correct,of cource it is not your choice.Veil is challenge to Civilization.Head scarf is the chain on women head,veil is the fanaticism on woman face and black wrap is the torture on woman body.It is my choice.No,no unfortunately not correct.It is subjugation.
