Gaza Siege Will End in 2009

I predict that in 2009, the siege on Gaza will end. The 1.5 million Palestinians holed up in the tiny strip south of Israel will be allowed to travel freely. Goods and services will be able to move in and out of this embattled region. I also predict that Palestinians will hold presidential and parliamentary elections (closer to the end of the year) and a more sane parliament will be elected.

I predict that President Obama will continue to positively surprise us by considerably improving the image of the US (not a hard job considering the current status) both internally and externally.

Unfortunately I can't predict that most ongoing wars will end, nor that the economy will quickly improve, nor that global warming will quickly be arrested. This pessimistic prediction also applies to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which I am sorry to predict will not be resolved in 2009, even if the siege on Gaza might end.
