German Voice:

Daoud Kuttab,

Come on, brown shirt, not you again. Are you born to make a fool of yourself?

Kohsar240:

Stop flooding the board with your unreadable, shouting posts.

I think Tony Blair is as much a winner as is Ahmadinejad. Both sides made a great example of how to handle tense situations. Congrats to Blair. Imagine if it was (OMG) 15 US marines. At least a thousand civilians killed by now. Thanks to Allah AIPAC is not as big a factor as they are in the US. One has to be sure that Olmert and co. have many calls encouraging Brits to take action. Luckily Brits can rely on their own hard-earned wisdom.

Jozefs Human Rights against wrongs:

Iran is not a Super Power. And someone on this thread said that . "..For the 1st time....Russia & China backed-off on Security Councils..." [Similar].
So, Mr. Lame Duck PreZ G.W. Bush is not talking "QUACK" with Iran. nor Paper Tiger language.

You need to see that Our Navy is in their "Back Yard" which is indeed, not just an eye soar but a very sobering sight for the average Iranian there, neighbors, to see. et al.
So Don't mess with "Jim Beam," and friends, O.K Iran, Hezbullys, Hasmats, Fartah, ? Etc. :=)/ Ya MON!

good lord - everyone is crazy.

Greater achievement, for the British (thanks to seasoned British diplomats), than destroying a whole country, murdering foreigners and Canadian UN observer in the process, only to be cursed by the world and get no one back.

Mr. Baluch:

Mr. Kuttab:

I am not from the middle east but rather east of the middle. Lets face it, this is all about dominance in the region and Iran wants just that. A country so rich in oil reserves and yet it wants nuclear energy! Lets face it, the actions taken against the sailors is the behavior of two school yard bullies taunting each other from each of their own school yards by throwing stones across the street at each other. Maybe both the US and Iran should look 200 years into the future and define what we want this world to look like, we surely know what it looks like today and certainly the past.

anon. in oxon hill:

Mr. Kuttab:

No one wants to talk about your points on this blog because you make the truth plain: there is no way to work it out Yesterday, you commented yet again on the wisdom of the U.S. and U.K. leaving Iran alone, saying how even Condi and Cheney are at odds- pointing out how the West tries to deal with the region in this type of manner. Today, you speak of a 'million breaths', reinforcing the idea that there is nothing we can do about Iran. I reiterate that we should leave you all to yourselves. You are so smart, tough and steeped in culture and tradition, that you should be left to yourselves. Only then, will the U.S. be in a leverage position and have nations willing to work with them. The Middle East can unite in one thing: hating the U.S.. Why should we stay there? At least we know why they have you posted to this blog. You remind us that we are not liked or welcome in the region in any way. What is so offensive to the American way of thinking is that Iran talks so tough. We would love a stand-up fight but can't get it. That is the wiley nature of the middle east insurgent warrior. If the West wanted to deal indiscriminate violence it could level the situation but we must deal with taunts, like yours. The appropriate discussion is what to do. I say leave you to yourselves.
