He is one of the most influential and widely-read columnists in the Spanish-language media, syndicated in dozens of publications in Latin America, Spain and the United States. He is also vice president of the Liberal International, a London-based federation devoted to the defense of democratic values and the promotion of the market economy. He has written more than twenty books, including Journey to the Heart of Cuba; How and Why Communism Disappeared; Liberty, the Key to Prosperity; and the novels A Dog's World and 1898: The Plot. He is now based in Madrid, Spain.

That was a very short and succinct post. Many will argue with both of your premises, especially the first: (1) more immigration is good for us, and (2) more global trade is good for us.
I think that we must keep the doors open to global trade, but think that we must limit immigration from our southern neighbor.
More important issues I believe have to do with our disastrous foreign policy, particularly our unconditional support for the brutal subjugation of the Palestinians and occupation of Palestine by Israel.
The Zionist invaders took the land of Palestine from its rightful owners by force with an assist from the world’s super powers, and it will soon be taken back by force. When that happens, we must make a home for the Israeli Jews if we don’t want to see a wholesale slaughter. I hope that we will make room here in America for these 5.7 Million Israeli Jews. They can then join their 5.0 Million American Jewish brethren in forming a true homeland with 80% of the Jews on the planet.
