India's Rough Neighborhood
Some things are easier said than done, and to talk of India launching a pre-emptive strike against Pakistan is one such thing.
Anyone who knows the volatility of the region, the degree of hatred between the extremist opponents on both sides and the fact that both countries are nuclear powers would not wish a war between the two countries.
An India-Pakistan war would not only present the threat of a nuclear clash, but also give extremist forces in the region an opportunity to drag the entire world into a war with unimaginable repercussions.
Pakistan is a next door nuclear power, and a very volatile place where outlaw groups could take the act of revenge in their own hands regardless of how their government might choose to respond to India's "self-defense."
