Islamist extremists who can pull off such a daring and coordinated assassination could easily do so in other parts of the world.

Jai Khosla is spot on!
The title of the article should have been "Pakistan, the Problem". Did you see CNN's "Pakistan: Terror Central"? Did you notice the kids in the madrassas memorizing the Koran? This is what goes on in the nation that is supposed to be in the "forefront of the war on terror"!

I agree Mr. Goth's view to a certain degree but as both the country (Pakistan) and President Mushraf were both going through a tough time and war with many fronts, such as, the fight against terrorism, a pressure from US government to capture Bin Ladden, a heavy weight hold of responsibility for the leakage of the Nuclear from Pakistani scientist along with the internal war against the strong Islamist in Pakistan, Mrs. Bhutto's political campaign against the current movement of President Mushruf with no doubt has fueled the situation and put Pakistani's political rank in the eyes of the "world" in a fragile situation.
"God Bless her"
I admired the women, " but she was better off to stay out of politics and remain a mother of those three beautiful children instead.
Best regards

While not rejoicing at Bhutto's death, I cannot at the same time praise a woman who had promised a 1000 year war against Hindu India and was responsible for establishing the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Pakistan.
In 1996. Benazir Bhutto as prime minister of Pakistan had asked Pervez Musharraf, then her Director General of Military Operations, to rehabilitate Al Qaida chief Osama bin Laden in Jalalabad from Sudan.
Bin Laden, who had shifted base to the African country after the Afghan war, had been thrown out by Khartoum after intense American pressure. Musharraf brought the Al Qaida mastermind to Jalalabad, a city in eastern Afghanistan, and rehabilitated him.
That — a decade later — Al Qaida should claim responsibility for Bhutto’s assassination marks not just a cruel irony, it also underlines once again the risk of Frankenstein’s monster turning upon the master.
Bhutto’s return to Pakistan this year may have been marked with her claim to wipe out terrorism, but the fact remains that it was her interior minister, Major General (retd) Naseerullah Babar, who played a key role in raising the Taliban and consolidating Al Qaida in Afghanistan. The reason: a desire to secure strategic depth by controlling Pakistan’s western border, and to have a say in future Afghanistan affairs.
The present day terrorism in India, and now turning on Pakistan, can, to an important extent, be traced to that fateful decision taken by the Bhutto government. Bhutoo was as much responsible as anybody as anybody else for the murder of 100,000 people in India by Muslims.
Taliban itself soon became host to a menacing jihadi conglomerate — the Qaida-led International Islamic Front (IIF) — the components of which included anti-India gangs like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, which later became Jaish-e-Mohhamed, HuJI and others.
The objective of the group was to establish Sharia rule in this important region of Asia, and it was determined to go to any length, even acquire weapons of mass destruction, to realise it.
After the collapse of Taliban post-9/11, this terror infrastructure led by bin Laden moved further to Pakistan, and has added to the radicalization which has claimed so many innocent lives, including that of the former prime minister. A look at the history of militancy in the subcontinent also brings out the fact that Islamic fundamentalism is a direct result of the efforts of hardline Sunni groups to subdue Shias, Ahmadias and others. Fundamentalist Sunni outfits like Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), which went after Shias, enjoyed the patronage of influential sections of the Pakistan establishment.
There was an overlap of objectives, of course. Former Pakistan president General Zia-ul-Haq, follower of Deobandi sect of Sunnis, set up SSP in 1979 to not only counter the Shias but marginalised pro-democracy forces seeking an end of his brutal military regime.
Some of the radical elements of the SSP parted ways and formed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) in 1996. LeJ, which is suspected to have carried out the attack on Bhutto at the behest of Al Qaida, is nothing but the armed wing of SSP like Jaish-e-Mohamed and HuJI which had also branched out of SSP. The connections of all jihadi groups with each other are obvious whether they are fighting in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq or India.
You reap what you sow.

Dispassionate Analyst post shows why Pakistan is in the shape it is. Sixty years of such analysis and is it any surprise? In the land of the Pure, the really really pure declare all others as Kafirs and then proceed to kill them.

She was a brave woman who will be mourned by many, not just in her country. At the same time, one has to ask about a style of politics that is so directed to a single leader. If one party is so beholden to one person, it is obviously an incentive to decapitate that party and thus render it harmless. What is important is that the ideas and ideals she stood for should not go to the grave with her and that there should be many more competent people in her party willing and able to take up her banner. It's also in U.S. interests that the people we deal with are not so expendable that we have no one left if they become victims of an atrocious incident such as this one.

On 911 the yanks killed 3000 of their own people.
Zia was killed by CIA along with the American Ambassador.
Kennedy was killed by the yank elite itself.
Lincoln was similarly killed by the yanks.
The real terrorism is the european and yank terrir against their own.
The zionists conspired with hitler to kill their own jews.
DISPASSIONATE ANALYST
ON WHO KILLED BENAZIR ?
Taliban would not be motivated to kill Benazir.
Musharraf is their bigger enemy who assisted the americans against
them with tremendous logistical support.
Her brother was killed in Karachi by the MQM. They are the most
callous, irreligious, and secular hardened killers, with no compassion
just like Musharraf. For example, who killed the registrar of the
supreme court, Hamid Raza execution style ?
They are bonded to Musharraf by the Mohajir blood.
Musharraf is a stooge of America. His ONLY son in there and so are
his brothers. He trusts them. He is being tutored personally by
Negroponte. CIA provides free consulting to him and Negroponte
personally tutors him. Ponte went there to tutor Musharraf on how to
handle the JUDICIARY in a machiavellian fashion, by inflicting a
mortal disabling wound , and that is exactly what Mush did.
The zionists and hindu are quietly watching because Mush and MQM
is doing their job and you maintain pin-drop silence when your enemy
is destroying itself.
According to the brainy NEOCONS, from the Ashkenazi or KHAZAR tribe of
Central Asia, the wise and learned authors of the protocols of the
learned elders of zion, the loyal servants of the King and Banker
Rothschild, one of whom Mikhail Khodorkovsky who looted the biggest of
Russian oil and was nabbed like a rat by Honorable Vladimir Putin of
Motherland Russia and the Fatherland, and also the master conspirators
of the Russian revolution and the establishment of the state of Israel
(An Illustrious Resume of ACHIEVEMENTS):
This is the way to handle an islamic nuclear country by making it
crumble from inside by putting a militant minority of biharis (who
were the back-stabbers to their very neighbors and muslim brothers,
the bengalis in 1971 on the basis of language and ethnicity) like the
Kallu Mush, on top of the majority in the country. Being cornered,
they will heartily and mightily fight and destroy each other with
wanton and abandon.
Being cornered, they will heartily and mightily fight and destroy each
other with wanton and abandon, AND MAKE NO MISTAKE, SRI-LANKA is a
proven case of SAVAGE TAMIL HINDU TERROR trained by none other than
the Israeli Mossad and the Indian RAW. Biharis are BECOMING
temperamentally very much like that.
We must stop the transmogrification of the Biharis by reaching out to
them by love and dialogue. Only that could work.
Musharraf and MQM believes that it is their historic opportunity
to setup a Mohajir Caliphate - forever.
The goal of CIA, Mossad, RAW is to create Tamil-Sinhalese
intensity and style hatred in Pakistan, and MQM is the perfect tool.
We must guard against it and resuscitate a hero like Dr A.Q.Khan to
serve as the bridge. It will kill many birds with one stone.
It will kill many birds with one stone.
It will kill many birds with one stone.
Musharraf and MQM dream has no feasibility, but their belief in it
will indeed make the CIA/Mossad/RAW plan not only feasible but
successful.

Mr. Goth says:
“With the national election coming closer and Benazir’s supporters gaining momentum, it is obvious that the extremists and al-Qaeda decided to act. The assassination of Benazir is therefore only a hint of what is at stake for Pakistan and the whole region. The escalation of terrorist activities in other parts of the Muslim world such as Algeria, and the arrest of terrorists preparing to strike Saudi Arabia during the Hajj, are indicative of the audacity and coordinated efforts of Islamic extremist groups.”
I agree and this is a glimpse of the world’s future if the Zionist so called “State of Israel” and its number one ally the USA don’t wise up and vacate the Middle East.
That’s right Victoria, they can’t blame this one on the general Muslim population.
http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/postglobal/yossi_melman/2007/12/bhutto_conspiracy_theories_wil/all_comments.html
We may find out, however, that the culprit is the Islamist fundamentalists (Al Qaeda and the Taliban) who are enabled by the foolish greed of the colonial USA and Israel.
Certainly Musharraf is one of those with the most to gain. He can now postpone elections indefinitely and hold onto his power, although he may have quite a revolt on his hands if he does so.
On the other hand, Bhutto was a strong ally of the US and an outspoken opponent of the Islamic fundamentalists. That is the kiss of death in this region of the world.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/28/world/asia/28pakistan.html?hp=&pagewanted=print
“In October, Ms. Bhutto survived another deadly suicide attack in the southern city of Karachi on the day she returned from years of self-imposed exile abroad to contest the parliamentary elections. Ms. Bhutto blamed extremist Islamic groups who she said wanted to take over the country for that attack, which narrowly missed her but killed 134 people. But she also complained that the government had taken insufficient steps to safeguard her parade…
She was openly critical of Mr. Musharraf’s ineffectiveness at dealing with Islamic militants and welcomed American involvement…
The assassination comes just days after Mr. Musharraf lifted a state of emergency in the country, which he had used to suspend the Constitution and arrest thousands of political opponents, and which he said he had imposed in part because of terrorist threats by extremists in Pakistan…”
So this is how my crystal ball has it. We just took another step along the path to WW III. The Islamist fundamentalists (Al Qaeda and the Taliban) hold all the cards. Musharraf may or may not be making a serious effort to rein them in. He may be playing live and let live as they build their strength in NW Pakistan and continue to weaken Afghanistan.
The Zionist invader in Palestine keeps the entire Middle East inflamed at both them and the USA for supporting them. Of course our preemptive attack on Iraq and continued occupation of Afghanistan just adds fuel to the flames.
China, India and Pakistan’s thirst for Middle East oil makes them natural allies of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the other Arabian Gulf oil states. They will be eager to supply whatever these countries need in the way of precision guided land Attack Cruise Missiles (LACM) like the US Tomahawk. These are precision, Global Position System (GPS) satellite guided, low flying cruise missiles that hug the earth and can be programmed to attack Israel from multiple directions. Israel will never know what hit them. These will not be like the thousands of ballistic Katyusha rockets fired from Southern Lebanon, which mostly land in the olive orchards and sage brush fields. These missiles will each have a high rise building or other high value target and street number programmed in them like our Tomahawk attacks on Baghdad in 1991 and 2003.
Our thirst for oil and 10 Trillion dollar national debt, with much of it owed to China, puts us in a very weak strategic position. China could bankrupt us at will by flooding the market with our worthless paper IOUs. That’s why the US dollar has lost ~33% of its value relative to the Euro, which is on its way to becoming the world standard currency. The US dollar will soon be known as the US Peso.
Israel only produces ~1% of its required oil from its own oil wells, and must import 99%, 90% from Russia. Russia is anything but a reliable ally and is known to have used its natural gas supplied to Eastern Europe as a political tool in the past.
So standby for action the so called Zionist “State of Israel” and its number one ally the USA. We live in interesting times.
