I made blunder and I answered the question that was floored before this question.
Coming back to this question I say,"Yes, Hollywood activists help bring attention to global problems and they had been doing all along"
Being Darfur, Iraq and Afghanistan, and other hot spots in the world Hollywood stars and Music Icons keep and kept the moral attention of thier country's people and policy makers on suffering of mankind in all over the globe.
In my first years in the USA, in early 1980s, I was moved by "The Africa aid concert" that was aired and raised millions of dollars for the famine victims of Eithopia.
I observed ,latey, Holy stars and icons of the Music industry became less active as they used to be.
It is sad that this me generation is not only confined in the halls of Wall Street offices and governmental beaucrazies but Holly wood stars, Intellegentsia, and Music Icons all became complacent and in active in politics of thier countries and for the whole globe for that matter.
One does not have to be Holly star to make a difference and fight for a cause.
One of the people I admire and I commend is Randall Robinson who found Tran-Africa and brought down Aparthied with the help of people of good will from all over the world.
More Mohamed Alis and James Browns are needed.
I think we have to beg for a new generation as the generations of the 1950s and 1960s. That gave us The Mandelas and Dr. Martin Luther King among others.

The dual policy of uno brought doubt about the credibility of this organisation.one hand you allow to wage war dispalced million from their homes and allow to die by imposing sanction .This organisation killed millions of iraqi and afghani,palestian people by imposing sanction.see sudan,libya,iran,etc.after destroying the human you use to bring celebraties to palm their wounds.what is this?if uno just use justice and then bring celebraties to work for them then that is ptaiseworthy.the work of celebraties is to bring life in the people when they are like to live.any way their efforts are praiseworthy.otherwise from last fifty years uno policy is to put people in pain and then palm.

Many times, I mentioned how I and many people from the third world, as you guys from the West call us, including my hero Nelson Mandela befriended the founding fathers of Western civilization through literature. We have been and had been reading from the fathers of Decoracy as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, John Locke, Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy(who send me a piece corps teacher from Yale) among others.
We have been reading about Carl Max, Hegel,Lenin, Stalin, and Gorbashev among others.
The west hard the high moral ground as far as I am concerned before George W. Bush and his gang came to power in the United States of America.
I never thought that I will live George Orwell's 1984 in 2007 in the United States of America as US citizen, but we have eaves dropoping, Guatanamo bay, and many other horrible things.
As far as I know there is no difference between Putin and Goerge W. Bush.
They both nullified the individual rights, both have police state. They both violated individual human rights.
They both head police states.
