TO ANONYMOUS AND THE REST OF HUMANITY: Have you ever thought about taking the bible as a whole and seeing that the message, God's Plan for all of humanity, part of which is God becoming one of us, is what God is trying to get thru to us. Sometimes we seem to get so caught up in the details, that we sometimes even refuse to think that there might be the big picture, God's salvation of the entire human race and the complete renewal of all creation. Being a christian is suppose to be carrying on the work begun by Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. Jesus said, "I have not come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law", and if we have listened to what He taught, the "law" is LOVE. Isn't it interesting that since God is LOVE, PURE LOVE, then what Jesus was trying to teach us is that God, Himself, is the LAW. When Jesus said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged", do you think He was kidding or being serious? When Jesus taught us in the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" and then went on to tell us that it is a Divine Equation, do you think He was trying to be as direct as possible about it? When Jesus said, "All power and authority have been given unto me", do you think He was being serious considering that we thru our first earthly parents gave in to satan? Remember God knows what He is doing and He knew about the fall before it happened and it is part of His Plan, TOTAL VICTORY. One thing about the original apostles, even though they sure seemed to be in the dark about most things, one thing that they did "get" was, "These are hard sayings". Watered down christianity is not christianity at all, God choses who He choses and I have been chosen to proclaim the "gospel", by the way "gospel" means "Good News" and that "Good News" is for all of humanity not just some. Some people seem to be content with good-enough news, well good-enough news is terrible news, by the way what I mean by good-enough news is, as long as I get to the "good place" and this sure does seem to be what some of the people that call themselves "christian" are contented with. God is not contented with that, His Plan is for ALL OF HUMANITY, the captives shall be released, the dead shall rise. The "captives", those that built their own hell to occupy, the "dead", those in "spiritual death" whether still breathing or not. The True, Living, Triune, Triumphant God is a searcher of hearts and minds, not of religious affiliations or lack thereof. Some things to think about. Take care, see you in the Kingdom. Thus democracy, the whole idea of people controlling their own destiny is ridiculous. There's just one thing left to do. Find the true religion and turn the destiny of man over to it's high holy one. That's been done already.

Notice that Matthew 16:18 dose not say churches.

It's the pope, successor to St Peter who shall run the "kingdom of God, Earth" while we await the return of Jesus. And he has the arbitrary power to condemn anyone to hell. Has he condemned all non Roman Catholics to hell? He has no requirement to announce his actions.

Lucky for us the Bible is a proved hoax.

Father Reese's comments remind me of growing up Roman Catholic and attending a Jesuit college prep school in Arizona. It also reminds me of the differences between Roman Catholicism and Mormonism (I was looking at the latter as the result of an attraction to a Mormon female). While there are many doctrinal and practical differences between the two religions, the one that relates to this topic is the Catholics' belief in social justice and the lack of such beliefs by the LDS church. While I consider myself an agnostic now, I think the Roman Catholics have the better half of this argument--but there is growing evidence that the better half is being ignored by conservative politicians and their fundamentalist (including Mormon) supporters.

What's this?! You are not following the evangelical mantra:

(1) All issues are moral issues.

(2) All moral issues are black and white.

(3) God tells me the white and black side of each issue.

(4) So, do as I say or you violate the Word of God.

You actually think REASON has a role to play in life.
