Well, one thing they mentioned was "Separation of Church and State", which would tell me that no presidential leader should use their religious beliefs to reach a decision about federal matters. It seems to me that we, in these united states are further from unity than ever before,although the civil war of our past is considered. Where it was once a matter of being black or white,we now have whatever or whoever offends me should be silenced, censored, attacked, arrested or enslaved.When our founding Fathers of this nation established their and our freedoms,and the moral values that accompanied them,they valued somethig that they and generations before them once had and was then lost,or stolen by man,or was a freedom never seen let alone had by man.They valued their vision and their faith so much that they were willing to die for it.They were so committed to hold on to it and to proclaim it that they went public with it. I made sure I was watching as you made the invocation at the Senate. I am so sorry that there were rude and mistaken people that interrupted your beautiful prayer.

As you were calling for Peace, they rained down their hell on you. But, sir, you were calm and dignified. I was so proud to have witnessed it. But ashamed too.

As a non Christian I was happy that you were giving the invocation...As a citizen I was ashamed that Americans, whose founders guarenteed religious freedom within these borders, forgot that fact.

I couldn't agree more. I just had a "disagreement" with gentleman the other day. He told me he would not vote for Ron Paul because of what he has said are his beliefs about gay marriage. I would like to see all people treated equally, but I think that can wait a bit. There are innocent Iraqis and Soldiers dying every day.

This person even agreed with me that Ron Paul is a great candidate for president. Go figure.......
