Palin's God is Not My God

I don't know who Sarah Palin's God is. But my God does not advocate for gas pipelines - or any other multi-million dollar self-interest driven pet projects. My God is busy being concerned with the abuse of the widow and the orphan, the oppression of the stranger, the struggle of the poor. My God does not support illegal, aggressive wars that needlessly claim thousands and thousands of lives, but rather demands that we pursue every possible path toward peace. My God calls upon human beings to witness the pain of the afflicted, to agonize over the plight of the poor, to fight for the dignity of all human beings. My God insists that we give a damn. That we recognize that the religious life is fundamentally incompatible with apathy and complacency, just as it is with cruelty and brutality.

My religious life is driven by the audacious claim that humanity is called to narrow the chasm between the world as it is and the world as it ought to be. It is the idea that every single person should be able to live a dignified life, free from oppression, poverty and degradation, free to dream, to love, to self-actualize. It is the belief that each one of us has the responsibility and the capacity to bring some measure of justice and understanding to the world, to tip the scales toward comfort and consolation, peace and understanding.

Am I concerned about Palin's religious views? Deeply. Anytime a person in line to hold the highest office in the most powerful country in the world suggests that she knows that God wants us to pursue a particular plan, especially one that involves risking lives or endangering the environment, I am concerned. As a person who strives every day to discern the voice of God and live my life in accordance with God's will, I certainly hope that all of our candidates understand that this great country, established in part to honor and protect religious freedom, thrives precisely on the diversity of its inhabitants. National political figures are free to believe whatever they'd like, but they are obligated to distinguish between their personal religious convictions and their sacred obligation to govern justly, objectively and with deep humility. Religion is not irrelevant to politics - in fact, I can't conceive of an authentic religious life that doesn't compel us to bring our spiritual ecstasy out of the church and to the streets. But I believe that God's will has nothing to do with pipelines. It has to do with calling human beings to devote every breath, every day, to the holy task of bringing human dignity, equality, justice and peace to our world.

I HAVE CLEARLY SHOWN THAT THOSE OF THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM do not know their brother. A Hebrew Servant is not a slave, that is thinking in the physical real, but in them that think in the spiritual realm, a Hebrew servant is a student taught by the sons of the House of Aaron.

“HE WAS SEEN OF JAMES”
“For I am THE LEAST of the apostles”
“AND LAST OF ALL HE WAS SEEN OF ME ALSO”
“GIDEON SAID UNTO HIM, OH MY LORD”
“I am THE LEAST IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE”
“THAT YE WOULD GIVE ME EVERY MAN THE EARRINGS OF HIS PREY”
“FOR THEY HAD GOLDEN EARRINGS, BECAUSE THEY WERE ISHMAELITES.”
“and DID CAST THEREIN EVERY MAN THE EARRINGS OF HIS PREY.”

HEADS CROWNS OF GOLD

Zechariah 3
And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying,
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.
For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

“HEAR NOW”
“I will bring forth my servant the Branch”
“For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua”
“upon one stone shall be seven eyes”
“behold, I will engrave the graving thereof”
”saith the Lord of hosts”
”I WILL REMOVE THE INIQUITY OF THAT LAND IN ONE DAY.”
“In that day, saith the Lord of hosts”
“SHALL YE CALL EVERY MAN HIS NEIGHBOUR UNDER THE VINE AND UNDER THE FIG TREE.”

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

“And Judah and Israel dwelt safely”
“every man under his vine and under his fig tree”
“from Dan even to Beersheba”
“all the days of Solomon”
“Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much”
“and largeness of heart”
”as the sand that is on the sea shore”

the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him
the spirit of wisdom and understanding
the spirit of counsel and might
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor
and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth
for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
it shall come to pass in that day,
THE LORD SHALL SET HIS HAND AGAIN THE SECOND TIME
to recover the remnant of his people
he shall set up an ensign for the nations
and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel
and gather together the dispersed of Judah
the four corners of the earth
the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongues
there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people
And in that day thou shalt say
O Lord, I will praise thee
Behold, GOD IS MY SALVATION
I WILL TRUST, AND NOT BE AFRAID
THEREFORE WITH JOY SHALL YE DRAW WATER OUT OF THE WELLS OF SALVATION.
PRAISE THE LORD
CALL UPON HIS NAME
SING UNTO THE LORD

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

“Kiss the son”
“lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way”
“when his wrath is kindled but a little”
“Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”

THE WORDS OF THE PREACHER, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

“How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?”
“and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?”
“Turn you at my reproof: behold”
“I will pour out my spirit unto you”
“I will make known my words unto you.”
“BECAUSE I HAVE CALLED, AND YE REFUSED”
“I HAVE STRETCHED OUT MY HAND”
“AND NO MAN REGARDED;”
“BUT WHOSO HEARKENETH UNTO ME SHALL DWELL SAFELY”
”AND SHALL BE QUIET FROM FEAR OF EVIL”

For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

“GOD GIVETH TO A MAN THAT IS GOOD IN HIS SIGHT WISDOM, AND KNOWLEDGE, AND JOY”

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue”
“they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life”

The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Let her kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love me.

“Let her kiss me with the kisses of his mouth”
“for thy love is better than wine”
“therefore do the virgins love me”

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

“So she caught him, and kissed him”
“and with an impudent face said unto him”
“I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows”
”Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face”
”I have found thee”

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

“The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life”
“but love covereth all sins”

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

“He that covereth a transgression seeketh love”

Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
Give heed to me, O Lord, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.
Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
Yet, Lord, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.

“Then said they”
”COME AND LET US DEVISE DEVICES AGAINST JEREMIAH”
“for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet”
”COME, AND LET US SMITE HIM WITH THE TONGUE”
”LET US NOT GIVE HEED TO ANY OF HIS WORDS”
”Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul”
”REMEMBER THAT I STOOD BEFORE THEE TO SPEAK GOOD FOR THEM”
”AND TO TURN AWAY THY WRATH FROM THEM”
”Yet, Lord, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me”
“forgive not their iniquity”
“neither blot out their sin from thy sight”
” but let them be overthrown before thee”

ALL THE SAINTS SALUTE YOU.
ALL THE SAINTS SALUTE YOU, CHIEFLY THEY THAT ARE OF CAESAR'S HOUSEHOLD
ALL THAT ARE WITH ME SALUTE THEE. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

“HE HATH MADE HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL UTTERLY TO ABHOR HIM”
“THEREFORE HE SHALL BE MY SERVANT FOR EVER.”

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

“Behold my servant, whom I have chosen”
“my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased”
“I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.”
“He shall not strive, nor cry; NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN HEAR HIS VOICE IN THE STREETS.”
“And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.”

That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.
I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.
And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

“THAT WHICH IS CROOKED CANNOT BE MADE STRAIGHT”
“THAT WHICH IS WANTING CANNOT BE NUMBERED.”

And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

“And the Lord said unto him”
“That which is crooked cannot be made straight”
“that which is wanting cannot be numbered.”
“ARISE, AND GO INTO THE STREET WHICH IS CALLED STRAIGHT”
“AND INQUIRE IN THE HOUSE OF JUDAS”
“FOR ONE CALLED SAUL, OF TARSUS”
“for, behold, he prayeth”

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

“love unto all the saints”
“Cease not to give thanks for you”
“making mention of you in my prayers”

What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

“My beloved is white and ruddy”
“the chiefest among ten thousand”
“His head is as the most fine gold”
“his locks are bushy, and black as a raven”
“His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters”
“washed with milk, and fitly set”
“His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl”
“his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.”
“His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold”
“his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.”
“His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely”
“This is my beloved, and this is my friend”
“O daughters of Jerusalem”

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

“David his ten thousands”

And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew THE BROTHER OF GOLIATH THE GITTITE, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had ON EVERY HAND SIX FINGERS, and ON EVERY FOOT SIX TOES, FOUR AND TWENTY in number; and HE ALSO WAS BORN TO THE GIANT.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

“THE BROTHER OF GOLIATH THE GITTITE”
“ON EVERY HAND SIX FINGERS”
“ON EVERY FOOT SIX TOES, FOUR AND TWENTY in NUMBER”
“HE ALSO WAS BORN TO THE GIANT”

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
And round about the throne were FOUR AND TWENTY SEATS: and upon the seats I saw FOUR AND TWENTY ELDERS sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on THEIR HEADS CROWNS OF GOLD.

FOUR AND TWENTY SEATS
FOUR AND TWENTY ELDERS

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.”
“For I WILL GIVE YOU A MOUTH and wisdom”
“which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
“neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem”
“for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”
“before the DRAGON WELL”
“viewed the walls of Jerusalem”
“which were broken down”
“the gates thereof were consumed with fire.”
” Moreover he said, I AM”
“DAGON THEIR GOD”
“that whatsoever ENTERETH IN AT THE MOUTH GOETH INTO THE BELLY”
“O Lord, we beseech thee”
“let us not perish for this man's life”
“So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea”
“the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah”
“God created great whales”
“God blessed them”
“out of the belly of hell cried I”

And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.
Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me?
Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?

“and David his ten thousands”
“And David laid up these words in his heart”
“was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.”

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.

“And David saved neither man nor woman alive”
“to bring tidings to Gath”
“And Achish believed David”
“He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him”
“therefore he shall be my servant for ever.”

THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT FORTH, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

“BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED”
“IF YE KEEP IN MEMORY WHAT I PREACHED UNTO YOU”
” For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received”
”And that he was buried”
”and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”
“AND THAT HE WAS SEEN OF CEPHAS, THEN OF THE TWELVE”

Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him,
"Judas Iscariot" said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called CEPHAS, which is by interpretation, A stone.

“Simon the Canaanite”
“the HOUSE OF SIMON THE LEPER”
“SIMON THE SON OF JONA”

Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

“he came and dwelt in Capernaum”
“Galilee of the Gentiles”
“shadow of death light is sprung up”

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

“He that eateth my flesh”
“and drinketh my blood”
“dwelleth in me”
“and I in him”
“as he taught in Capernaum”

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

“but with the Spirit of the living God”
“not in tables of stone”
“but in fleshy tables of the heart.”

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

“ye are the temple of the living God”
“as God hath said”
“I will dwell in them”
“and walk in them”
“and I will be their God”
“and they shall be my people

Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him,
"Judas Iscariot" said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

“Simon the Canaanite”
“the HOUSE OF SIMON THE LEPER”
“SIMON THE SON OF JONA”
“thou shalt be called Cephas”
“A stone”

And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

“and let the dry land appear: and it was so.”
“God called the dry land Earth”
“the gathering together of the waters called he Seas”
“God saw that it was good.”
And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
“Lord spake unto the fish”
“it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land”

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit” “SIMON THE SON OF JONA”
“Now when the centurion saw what was done”
“he glorified God”
“Certainly this was a righteous man.”

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

“These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.”
“And now, little children, abide in him”
“that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence”
“and not be ashamed before him at his coming”
“If ye know that he is righteous”
“ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.”

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

“according to the true proverb”
“the dog is turned to his own vomit again”
“the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire”

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

“a certain man, called Simon”
“used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria”
“giving out that himself was some great one:”
“To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying”
”This man is the great power of God.”

But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side”
“forthwith came there out blood and water.”

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.
And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

“Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem”
“And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines”
“drew water out of the well of Bethlehem”
“nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord”
“is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives”
“therefore he would not drink it”

Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

HEADS CROWNS OF GOLD

After that, HE WAS SEEN OF JAMES; then of all the apostles.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
For I am THE LEAST of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

“HE WAS SEEN OF JAMES”
“AND LAST OF ALL HE WAS SEEN OF ME ALSO”
”as of one born out of due time”
“For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle”
“because I persecuted the church of God.”

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

“GIDEON SAID UNTO HIM, OH MY LORD”
“if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us?”
“And he said unto him,”
”Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel?”
” behold, my family is poor in Manasseh”
“I am THE LEAST IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE”

Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

“Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve”
“in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.”
“If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself”
“if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.”
“If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters”
“the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.”
“And if the servant shall plainly say”
“I love my master, my wife, and my children”
“I will not go out free”
”his master shall bore his ear through with an earring”
“he shall serve him for ever.”

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the Lord.
And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

“And Aaron said unto them”
“Break off the golden earrings”
“which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters”
“they said, These be thy gods, O Israel”
“after he had made it a molten calf”
“And the Lord said unto Moses”
“I have seen this people”
“it is a stiffnecked people:”

Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son's son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Lord shall rule over you.
And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey.

“And Gideon said unto them”
“I will not rule over you”
“neither shall my son rule over you”
“the Lord shall rule over you”
“And Gideon said unto them”
“I would desire a request of you”
“And Gideon said unto them”
“THAT YE WOULD GIVE ME EVERY MAN THE EARRINGS OF HIS PREY”
“FOR THEY HAD GOLDEN EARRINGS, BECAUSE THEY WERE ISHMAELITES.”
“And they answered”
“We will willingly give them”
“And they spread a garment”
“and DID CAST THEREIN EVERY MAN THE EARRINGS OF HIS PREY.”

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Lord, even THE DEVILS ARE SUBJECT UNTO US THROUGH THY NAME.

BEHOLD, I COME AS A THIEF. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and THEY SEE HIS SHAME.

Then were THERE TWO THIEVES CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, THAT THEY SPEAK HENCEFORTH TO NO MAN IN THIS NAME.
And they called them, and COMMANDED THEM NOT TO SPEAK AT ALL NOR TEACH IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they COMMANDED THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SPEAK IN THE NAME OF JESUS, and let them go.
And they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING THAT THEY WERE COUNTED WORTHY TO SUFFER SHAME FOR HIS NAME.

Saying, DID NOT WE STRAITLY COMMAND YOU THAT YE SHOULD NOT TEACH IN THIS NAME? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
I WRITE NOT THESE THINGS TO SHAME YOU, but as my beloved sons I WARN YOU.
For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
I SPEAK TO YOUR SHAME. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
BUT BROTHER GOETH TO LAW WITH BROTHER, and that BEFORE THE UNBELIEVERS.

Whose end is destruction, WHOSE GOD IS THEIR BELLY, and WHOSE GLORY IS IN THEIR SHAME, who mind earthly things

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, DESPISING THE SHAME, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such CONTRADICTION OF SINNERS against himself, lest ye BE WEARIED AND FAINT IN YOUR MINDS.
YE HAVE NOT YET RESISTED UNTO BLOOD, striving against sin.

For the SON OF MAN IS LORD even of the sabbath day.
But that ye may know that the SON OF MAN HATH POWER ON EARTH to forgive sins
THE SON OF MAN came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, A FRIEND OF PUBLICANS AND SINNERS. But wisdom is justified of her children.

SO THE DEVILS BESOUGHT HIM, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
And there was in their synagogue A MAN WITH AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT; and he cried out,
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I KNOW THEE WHO THOU ART, THE HOLY ONE OF GOD.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for WITH AUTHORITY COMMANDETH HE EVEN THE UNCLEAN SPIRITS, AND THEY DO OBEY HIM.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
AND FORTHWITH JESUS GAVE THEM LEAVE. AND THE UNCLEAN SPIRITS WENT OUT, AND ENTERED INTO THE SWINE: AND THE HERD RAN VIOLENTLY DOWN A STEEP PLACE INTO THE SEA, (THEY WERE ABOUT TWO THOUSAND;) AND WERE CHOKED IN THE SEA.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to MARY MAGDALENE, OUT OF WHOM HE HAD CAST SEVEN DEVILS.

I have warned you of those who are behind the pulpit where the so-called christians worship. They are evil heartless soulless sinner creatures that have satan in their heart, the dragon in their mouth, the tongue of a sea nymph, the belly of hell, evil eyes, the mind of a serpent, hands that know nothing but to destroy, and use sorcery and bewitched the people. They are like their fathers, gods vomited out of the belly of hell. Seek the righteous ones, Them of the faith of Abraham, to convert you and your seed.

FOR I WILL GIVE YOU A MOUTH AND WISDOM, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

AN HYPOCRITE WITH HIS MOUTH DESTROYETH HIS NEIGHBOUR

And when the tempter came to him, he said, IF THOU BE THE SON OF GOD, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

“and they shall be my people”

Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

DO NOT YE YET UNDERSTAND, THAT WHATSOEVER ENTERETH IN AT THE MOUTH GOETH INTO THE BELLY, AND IS CAST OUT INTO THE DRAUGHT?

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but THE MOUTH OF THE WICKED POURETH OUT EVIL THINGS.

And GOD CALLED THE DRY LAND EARTH; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.

“DRAGON WELL”

And now art thou cursed from THE EARTH, which hath OPENED “HER MOUTH” TO RECEIVE THY BROTHER'S BLOOD FROM THY HAND;

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
LET US SWALLOW THEM UP ALIVE AS THE GRAVE; and whole, AS THOSE THAT GO DOWN INTO THE PIT:

My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
BE NOT AMONG WINEBIBBERS; AMONG RIOTOUS EATERS OF FLESH:
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.
That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
And I find more bitter than death THE WOMAN, WHOSE HEART IS SNARES AND NETS, and her hands as bands: WHOSO PLEASETH GOD SHALL ESCAPE FROM HER; BUT THE SINNER SHALL BE TAKEN BY HER.

THE SACRIFICE OF THE WICKED IS AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but THE MOUTH OF THE WICKED POURETH OUT EVIL THINGS.

HE THAT TURNETH AWAY HIS EAR FROM HEARING THE LAW, even HIS PRAYER SHALL BE ABOMINATION.

IF SINNERS ENTICE THEE, CONSENT THOU NOT
LET US LURK PRIVILY FOR THE INNOCENT WITHOUT CAUSE

The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but IT IS ABOMINATION TO FOOLS TO DEPART FROM EVIL.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but A COMPANION OF FOOLS SHALL BE DESTROYED.

‘GO, AND DO THOU LIKEWISE.”

And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed”
“came where he was: and when he saw him”
“he had compassion on him,”
“AND SET HIM ON HIS OWN BEAST”
“brought him to an inn”
“took care of him”
“he took out two pence”
“gave them to the host”
“Take care of him”
“was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?”
‘GO, AND DO THOU LIKEWISE.”

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.
So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.
And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.
And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

“it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.”
“neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem”
“NEITHER WAS THERE ANY BEAST WITH ME”
“THE BEAST THAT I RODE UPON.”
“I went out by night by the gate of the valley”
“before the DRAGON WELL”
“viewed the walls of Jerusalem”
“which were broken down”
“the gates thereof were consumed with fire.”

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot

LOVE THY BROTHER

“THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT FORTH”
“THE BROTHER OF GOLIATH THE GITTITE”
“ON EVERY HAND SIX FINGERS”
“ON EVERY FOOT SIX TOES, FOUR AND TWENTY in NUMBER”
“HE ALSO WAS BORN TO THE GIANT”

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
by Clement Clarke Moore
or Henry Livingston

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

“THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT FORTH”

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

“THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT FORTH”

“Thus saith the Lord; Such as are for death, to death”
“and such as are for the sword, to the sword”
” and such as are for the famine, to the famine”
” and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.”
“And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the Lord”
“the sword to slay”
“and the dogs to tear,”
“and the fowls of the heaven”
” and the beasts of the earth”
” to devour and destroy”

“Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night”
“behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.”
“And four great beasts came up from the sea”
” The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings”
” And behold another beast, a second”
“like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side”
” After this I beheld, and lo another”
” like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.”
“and behold a fourth beast”
“dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly”
” and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces”

Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures.
And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
As for the likeness of their faces
they four had the face of a man
and the face of a lion, on the right side
and they four had the face of an ox on the left side
they four also had the face of an eagle.
As for the likeness of the living creatures
their appearance was like burning coals of fire

Then said the Lord unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the Lord; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the Lord: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

“Thus saith the Lord; Such as are for death, to death”
“and such as are for the sword, to the sword”
” and such as are for the famine, to the famine”
” and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.”

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.
And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

“take up the fish that first cometh up”
“when thou hast opened his mouth”
“thou shalt find a piece of money”
“and give unto them for me and thee”

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

“Shew me the tribute money”
“And they brought unto him a penny”
“WHOSE IS THIS IMAGE AND SUPERSCRIPTION?”
“They say unto him, Caesar's”
“Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's”
“and unto God the things that are God's.”

“RENDER THEREFORE UNTO CAESAR THE THINGS WHICH ARE CAESAR'S”
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit”
“it vomited out upon the dry land”
“according to the true proverb”
“the dog is turned to his own vomit again”
“the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire”

“AND UNTO GOD THE THINGS THAT ARE GOD'S.”
“a certain man, called Simon”
“used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria”
“giving out that himself was some great one:”
“To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying”
”This man is the great power of God.”
“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side”
“forthwith came there out blood and water.”
That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

“WHOSE IS THIS IMAGE AND SUPERSCRIPTION?”

Truly I say to you, the pastors, teachers, ministers, priests, and preachers of the so-called Christian faith speak with power from their mouth, “DRAGON WELL” “DAGON THEIR GOD”, what is in their heart, soul, flesh, blood with their tongue. Their lord, the son of man, “I am “, on their Sabbath, “For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.” And their son of god, “Simon, Simon” “I AM THAT I AM” “Satan Satan” That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life”

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.

“The preparations of the heart in man”
“the answer of the tongue”
“is from the Lord”

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue”
“they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue”
“they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

“I appoint unto you a kingdom”
“as my Father hath appointed unto me”
“That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom”
“sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
“Simon, Simon”
“Satan Satan”

“God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”
“and it vomited out upon the dry land”
“And Moses said, I will now turn aside,”
” Moreover he said, I AM”
“And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.”
“the Lords of the Philistines gathered them together”
“DAGON THEIR GOD”
“Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.”
“and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image”
“called his name Seth”

“So God (I AM) created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him”
“male and female created he them.”
“God said unto Moses”
“I AM THAT I AM”
“Satan Satan”
“Sodom and Gomorrah”
“In the day that God created man”
“in the likeness of God made he him;”
“Male and female created he them; and blessed them”
“and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image”
“called his name Seth”
” Moreover he said, I AM”
“DAGON THEIR GOD”

“and they shall be my people”

Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

“as God hath said”
“I will dwell in them”

I'm a little late to this party, but let me say how much I also appreciated your piece, Rabbi Brous. See you soon!

“that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name”
“I will require it of him”
“THE EYES OF MY BROTHER Benjamin”
”that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.”

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

“The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life”

And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.

“And they took him, and cast him into a pit”
“behold, your EYES SEE”
“THE EYES OF MY BROTHER Benjamin”
”that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.”

And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

“the Lord said unto Moses, SEE”
“and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.”

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren”
“and will put my words in his mouth”
“he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him”

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

“David the son of Jesse said”
“the man who was raised up on high”
“the anointed of the God of Jacob”
“The Spirit of the Lord spake by me”
“his word was in my tongue”

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

“I waited patiently for the Lord”
“he inclined unto me”
“heard my cry”
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit”
“he hath put a new song in my mouth”
“MANY SHALL SEE”
“and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.”

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

“for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”

“For I will give you a mouth and wisdom”
“which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

“neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem”
“I went out by night by the gate of the valley”
“before the dragon well”
“viewed the walls of Jerusalem”
“which were broken down”
“the gates thereof were consumed with fire.”

“but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.”

“HE HATH MADE HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL UTTERLY TO ABHOR HIM”
“THEREFORE HE SHALL BE MY SERVANT FOR EVER.”

“and they shall be my people”

I find the comments made by several people on this blog to be condescending, insulting and rude.
You will quickly see that what you have written really doesn't prove your particular issues correct at all.
Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
“it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.”
“neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem”
“I went out by night by the gate of the valley”
“before the dragon well”
“viewed the walls of Jerusalem”
“which were broken down”
“the gates thereof were consumed with fire.”

to wade through your nonsense. You really ahould be ashamed of yourself and apologize.
I believe you have not the Ten Commandents bound to your heart. “O Lord, we beseech thee”
“let us not perish for this man's life”

As you can clearly see those that say “I am an Hebrew” “I fear the Lord” “God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.” “And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.” You can clearly see the dry land earth and the pit has no water in it. It is a living hell where there is not the doctrine of Moses. This is the God of the ancient time, those that have not the breath of life and neither a soul. These are the Neanderthals. After the LORD FORMED Adam “watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” and born was Cain, Abel, Seth, and Enos from the womb, God created his Adam (“I AM THAT I AM”) (Sodom and Gomorrah) (“Satan and Satan”) and Seth (“I AM”). Do not have the Ark of the Covenant bound to their heart. They know not the Ten Commandants. Those of the so-called Christian who believe in CREATIONISM, and those who speak in tongues are the most dangerous, call upon the name of their gods, in the name of jesus, “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.” “Moreover he said, I AM” “DAGON THEIR GOD” “I AM THAT I AM” “Satan cast out Satan” But whom say ye that I AM? Is thine eye evil, because I AM good? I AM with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” The faith of Abraham starts with Abraham, Not CREATIONISM. As you can see there are two Adam’s, two Seth’s. Solomon is the equal to ”Moreover he said, I AM” “DAGON THEIR GOD” Samson destroyed their house once before, the two pillars, (“I AM THAT I AM”) (“Satan and Satan”). You can see the prophecy that foretold the fall of Jerusalem. I have destroyed the so-called Christian faith and its gods. “I AM with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Do you seek to have Jerusalem fall again to “DAGON THEIR GOD”. “SETH” “GATH” “I AM” “the chiefest among ten thousand” “He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him” “therefore he shall be my servant for ever.” Moses met with “I AM THAT I AM” and “I AM” in the wilderness. If anybody is to know who they are is Moses/Solomon.

“O daughters of Jerusalem”

Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? What is thy country? and of what people art thou?
And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.
Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.
So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows.
Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

“I am an Hebrew”
“I fear the Lord”
“God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.”
“O Lord, we beseech thee”
“let us not perish for this man's life”
“So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea”
“the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah”
“Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

“God called the dry land Earth”
“the gathering together of the waters called he Seas”
“God saw that it was good”

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

“God created great whales”
“God blessed them”

Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly,
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

“Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly”
“I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord”
“he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I”
“They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.”
“But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving”
“I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.”
“the Lord spake unto the fish”
“and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land”

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

“God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him”
“male and female created he them.”

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

“And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush”
“the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed”
“And Moses said, I will now turn aside,”
” Moreover he said, I am”
“And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.”

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

“God said unto Moses”
“I AM THAT I AM”
“I AM hath sent me unto you”

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

“In the day that God created man”
“in the likeness of God made he him;”
“Male and female created he them; and blessed them”
“called their name Adam”
“and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image”
“called his name Seth”

“I went out by night by the gate of the valley”
“before the dragon well”
“viewed the walls of Jerusalem”
“which were broken down”
“the gates thereof were consumed with fire.”

Then the Lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.

“the Lords of the Philistines gathered them together”
“Dagon their god”
“Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.”

And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

“Satan cast out Satan”

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

“David his ten thousands”

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son”
“and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.”

“his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.”
“His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely”
“This is my beloved, and this is my friend”
“O daughters of Jerusalem”

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

I find the comments made by several people on this blog to be condescending, insulting and rude. Why use this forum to spout scripture? It isn't the purpose of this stream of sharing. I think that you should be ashamed of yourself for quoting scripture, pretending to be learned and all knowing when all you have done is a cut and paste and have convinced yourself that you sound religiously learned. Read through your writings one line at a time and read the commentary that scholars have written on what you have quoted here. You will quickly see that what you have written really doesn't prove your particular issues correct at all. Instead it simply shows that you have no opinions and no words to share on your own. I feel sorry for all of the readers who have been looking forward to learning from Rabbi Brous' expertise and instead have to wade through your nonsense. You really ahould be ashamed of yourself and apologize.

Harold, Harold, Harold,

Again you simply reinforce the fact that "Fools are those who have read only the bible. God cannot be proud of such lazy creations!!!!"

Again, what "voodooer of the hoodoo" blessed you with such stupidity in the field of fortune telling and interpretations of said stupidity other than the paranormal/mythical creatures of the OT and NT???

The reality of it all is that the "pew sitters" and "bowers" are coming to grips with the flaws in their religions and in ten years the religions of today will be unrecognizable or extinct as the "pretty / ugly, wingie, flying thingies" are finally buried in the piles of utter stupidity.

Here is my answer. “And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.”

Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

“Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God”

Here is Grace-Samson
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

“This charge I commit unto thee”
“son Timothy” Samson
“according to the prophecies which went before on thee”
“that thou by them mightest war a good warfare”

Here is Mercy-Solomon
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

“To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace” Solomon
“but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Here is Peace-Jonathan
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

“Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace” Jonathan
“Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart”
“of a good conscience”
“of faith unfeigned”
“From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling”
“Desiring to be teachers of the law”
”understanding neither what they say”
“nor whereof they affirm”

Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

“HE HATH MADE HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL UTTERLY TO ABHOR HIM”
“THEREFORE HE SHALL BE MY SERVANT FOR EVER.”

Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit is in my nostrils;
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

“In those days came John the Baptist”
“And saying, Repent ye”
“for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

“love unto all the saints”
“Cease not to give thanks for you”
“making mention of you in my prayers”

Apologies, I seem to have spammed scripture again.

If you hear My voice obey Me. Keep My Commandments. I have shown you mercy. If you are a sinner gentile seek a Rabbi in the House of Judah for conversion. Forsake your churches, they are not Mine; forsake your pastors, I never chose them; forsake them that are in it, I did not form them. If you do not obey Me, I will show you no mercy.

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.
And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,
Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?
Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

“That Moses commanded the Levites”
“which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord”
“Take this book of the law”
“and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God”
“that it may be there for a witness against thee”

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.

“had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach”

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.
Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

“There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone”
“which Moses put there at Horeb”
“when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel”
“that the cloud filled the house of the Lord”
“for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord”
“The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness”

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, Ten Commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you”

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

“God created the heaven and the earth”

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord”
“Satan came also among them”

“I call heaven to record this day against you”
“God created the heaven” Satan
“and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God”
“that it may be there for a witness against thee”

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.
And the Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

“Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord”
“Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord”
“Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou”
“From going to and fro in the earth”
“walking up and down in it”

“I call earth to record this day against you”
“God created the earth” Satan
“and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God”
“that it may be there for a witness against thee”

I read here and find that it's all incoherent
There's anger and reason's complete disappearance

I wish you would speak to each other as friends
So you'd find a bright future by making amends

There's many opinions that can cause a fight
But understanding our differences leads to delight.

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him.
And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

“And the woman bare a son”
“called his name Samson”
“the child grew”
“and the Lord blessed him.”
“And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan”

And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.
And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.

“Samson went down to Timnath”
“saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.”
“I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines”
“now therefore get her for me to wife.”
” And Samson said unto his father”
“Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.”
“behold, a young lion roared against him.”

Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

“Samson, the son in law of the Timnite”
“because he had taken his wife”
“And the Philistines came up”
“burnt her and her father with fire.”

And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

“the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him”
“the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire”
“his bands loosed from off his hands”
“he found a new jawbone of an ass”
“put forth his hand, and took it,”
“and slew a thousand men therewith”
“with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.”

Then the Lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
Now the house was full of men and women; and all the Lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

“the Lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god”
“Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.”
“And when the people saw him, they praised their god”
“Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.”
“when their hearts were merry”
“Call for Samson, that he may make us sport”
“they called for Samson out of the prison house”
“he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.”
“Now the house was full of men and women”
“all the Lords of the Philistines were there”
“there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women”
“Samson called unto the Lord, and said”
“O Lord God, remember me”
“I pray thee, and strengthen me”
“I pray thee, only this once”
“O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.”
“Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines”
“The Son of man is lord of the Sabbath”
“the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein”
“So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.”

Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

“Dan shall judge his people”
“as one of the tribes of Israel”
“Dan shall be a serpent by the way”

And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

“I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan”
“in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom”
“The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony”
”the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle”

These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.

“These are the sons of Dan after their families”
“of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites”
“All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them”

Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat.
Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.

“Now king David was old and stricken in years”
“and they covered him with clothes”
“but he gat no heat.”
“Wherefore his servants said unto him”
“Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin”
“that my lord the king may get heat”
“let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him”
“let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.”
“found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.”
“And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him”
“but the king knew her not.”

Paraphrasing from the New Testament, Benedict decried "insatiable greed" and said "the love of money is the root of all evil."
"Have not money, the thirst for possessions, for power and even knowledge, diverted man from his true destiny?" the pope asked.

“THIS IS MY COVENANT”
“BETWEEN ME AND YOU AND THY SEED AFTER THEE”
“IT SHALL BE A TOKEN OF THE COVENANT BETWIXT ME AND YOU.”
“BOUGHT WITH MONEY OF ANY STRANGER, WHICH IS NOT OF THY SEED.”
“AND LOVETH THE STRANGER”
“IN GIVING HIM FOOD AND RAIMENT.”
“FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL”
“BECAUSE THAT FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE THEY WENT FORTH”
“TAKING NOTHING OF THE GENTILES”

PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT
ARISE, AND GO INTO THE STREET WHICH IS CALLED STRAIGHT
AND INQUIRE IN THE HOUSE OF JUDAS
THAT WHICH IS CROOKED CANNOT BE MADE STRAIGHT
THAT WHICH IS WANTING CANNOT BE NUMBERED

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

“In those days came John the Baptist”
“And saying, Repent ye”
“for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

“love unto all the saints”
“Cease not to give thanks for you”
“making mention of you in my prayers”

“This is my covenant”
“between me and you and thy seed after thee”
“it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.”
“bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.”
“and loveth the stranger”
“in giving him food and raiment.”
“For the love of money is the root of all evil”
“Because that for his name's sake they went forth”
“taking nothing of the Gentiles”

This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

“This is my covenant”
“between me and you and thy seed after thee”
“Every man child among you shall be circumcised”
“And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin”
“it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.”
“he that is born in the house”
“or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.”
“my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant”
“the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised”
“that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.”

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord's thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
For the Lord your God is God of Gods, and Lord of Lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the Lord thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

“the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord's thy God”
“the earth also, with all that therein is.”
“Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them”
“he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.”
“Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked”
“For the Lord your God is God of Gods”
“Lord of Lords”

“For the Lord your God is God of Gods”
And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him
“a great God”
“a mighty”
“and a terrible”
“which regardeth not persons”
“nor taketh reward”

“Lord of Lords”
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
” loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.”
“Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt”
“Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God”
” him shalt thou serve”
” and to him shalt thou cleave”
“and swear by his name”

He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

“He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow”
“and loveth the stranger”
“in giving him food and raiment.”
“Love ye therefore the stranger”
“for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt”

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

“And having food and raiment let us be therewith content”
“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare”
“into many foolish and hurtful lusts”
“which drown men in destruction and perdition”
“For the love of money is the root of all evil”
“which while some coveted after”
“they have erred from the faith”
“pierced themselves through with many sorrows”

“O man of God”
“flee these things”
“follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”

Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

“Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church”
“Because that for his name's sake they went forth”
“taking nothing of the Gentiles”

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

“And hereby we do know that we know him”
“if we keep his commandments”
“He that saith, I know him”
“keepeth not his commandments”
“is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
“But whoso keepeth his word”
“in him verily is the love of God perfected”
“hereby know we that we are in him.”

i feel home under "jewish" tags, maybe because of this land. so i speak aloud where i am a guest in the house of my relatives. i had spoken a lot in the house of Comedian Rabbi, Hirschfield.

in this week days, a few of my friends i made in these eight years, came to me with news about intestinal cancer in their parents. they are from Bulgarian and French ancestry. in this year, there was not any fig to eat.

i need to know to differentiate "kafirun" and "kafi run". "kafi run" is "enough of (run)", i dont know what is "re+nun". then we can talk about Victory in Northern Iraq.

Ahmet Prophet had passed away while His Head was on Her Thymuse Gland, somewhere between the Chest and Throat of His Wife "Aise", the Fountain of Life, the Fountain of Love.

"Aise", DAughter of Ebubekir, is Life, Vividness, Vitality. i think there were people from Denmark in Arabia then. the hole in O3 ozone layer for 20-30 years, is it about "Faither, Sound One, Holy Spirit", PAulian Christianity?

I don't think Jesus was a Jew.

Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him,

"Judas Iscariot" he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit”
“Now when the centurion saw what was done”
“he glorified God”
“Certainly this was a righteous man.”

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

“according to the true proverb”
“the dog is turned to his own vomit again”
“the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire”

Quoting "We don't have a sun god and a moon god" yes you do, it called the shadow of death light. Moses and others dwell in the secret place, the breach, those that are of that faith dwell under the shadow of the Almighty. Moses is over all those one the face of the Earth, Jacob and Joseph. They light the path to righteousness.

"And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him."
"If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh"
"I will come again"
"And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear."

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the Lord in their third generation.
When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.

And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.

Suggest that you read or listen to the original text of the Palin comment about a “plan” for our troops. It certainly looks and sounds like she was asking the congregation to pray "that they were on a plan from god" not to "pray for them because they were on a plan from god." I assume you would not have a problem with the former.

In any event, if a freedom rider in the 60's were headed for Alabama, or an anti-vietnam marcher were headed for Washington in the early 70's, many preachers of all stripes (including Rabbis) characterized them as "doing God's work" -- just as JFK said - "god's work must truly be our own".

Unless you think Palin is a robot, controlled by evangelical central, you seem to be focusing on her anachronistic style (more suitable to the age of Lincoln than our current age) and not substance.

I wasn’t aware that she had said that the natural gas pipeline was a manifestation of god’s will. Is there a citation (or you-tube) for that?

In any event,

It is entirely fair to hold Palin responsible for her bizarre and dangerous religious views. People are not born Evangelicals, speaking in tongues, it is a lifestyle chosen by its adherents. Luckily the disease can be cured by long and prayerful consultations with skilled spiritual advisers.

Rabbi, it strikes me that a religion that fails to recommend justice, humility and objectivity in making decisions is a very poor religion, indeed. If Gov. Palin is failing in these areas, it's probably not the fault of her religion. As you say, "Religion is not irrelevant to politics - in fact, I can't conceive of an authentic religious life that doesn't compel us to bring our spiritual ecstasy out of the church and to the streets." I would submit, however that what Gov. Palin concludes about the efficacy of pipelines to promoting the general welfare is a matter, not so much of religious conviction, but of prudential judgment. Your prudential judgment weighs in more heavily in favor of preserving the interests of the environment. Her prudential judgment weighs more heavily in favor of providing fuel to an energy hungry populace. These objectives can be incompatible, but in the absence an unusually careful consideration of values against a well-considered hierarchy of values and related principles, as well as the likely effects stemming from a proposed policy, it would be folly to reject another's judgment as un-Christian simply because it differs from our own.

Let me propose that when a matter of prudential judgment is involved, you try to stick to the substantive details and enunciate the precise principles and values by which you make your judgments.

I am amazed that in the thousands of years of the Torah there is none that knows the Ark of the Covenant, the Mercy seat. It all has to do with the Ten Commandants. I am amiss that nobody knows them. How be it that nobody knows the LORD is the Father and the Mother. Many claim to know God, but I have proven that be not the case. How can there be peace on earth when the God the world worships knows nothing but evil. How can there be peace on earth when the world rejects the LORD. If anyone has a sane opinion to offer, please enlighten me.

These are the words of those with the so-called Christian belief hold deer to their heart:
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
Here is the house they are in, THE HOUSE OF SIMON THE LEPER. Here is what the law is for removing the plague upon that house.
“Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:”
“And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy:”

You can clearly see all that is left is the serpent in this House of Simon the Leper. “And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself”

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:
And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;
Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:
As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:
And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.
But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.
And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.
And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the Lord:
And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy:
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:
And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand:
And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the Lord:
And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering:
And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.
And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:
And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh;
He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head.
And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.
The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;
Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin;
And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest:
And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days:
And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.
He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.
And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;
Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more:
And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:
And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.
And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.
This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

Obviously the pipelines are of very real and ever present importance to her constituents.
There is an awful lot of supposition in this article-

I've watched that video many times now- and while I was mildly disturbed by Palin's comments-
I did not make the leap that because she felt deeply about God's purpose for her community-
she didn't actually say it was God's will.

"I certainly hope that all of our candidates understand that this great country, established in part to honor and protect religious freedom,"

Well, that really has to extend to Palin also- much as I hate to take her part.

Palin's god is not my god- is, to me, as divisive and judgemental as Palin's believing that god is doing her political bidding.

This is a very emotional piece- with no actual information about the hows or whys.

I disagree with both Palins', and the authors, lack of balance and specificity as to why they have this opinion.

In fact, though, the question concerned when human life begins and that is not a question about legal rights at all."

No, I was simply pointing out the duplicity inherent in the way you characterized his statement. You're still doing it. And you're wrong. The question was just as I stated it - "when does a baby get rights?"

You needn't take my word for it - the transcript is available online - just Google "Saddleback transcript."

Rabbi, Welcome to this forum on faith.

The energy, conviction, and your readiness for God comes across in your article.
I have always felt such practicality to be in the essence of spirituality as well as other virtues.

Now, as an undecided voter, and willing to heed Moses counsel .. Give our brothers a fair hearing .., I listened to Palin’s prayer, and in fairness did not take her words to express what you and so many others perceive them to say. My opinion.

I question;
Are the attacks upon this woman’s prayer really justifiable?
Do they arise from a genuine spiritual concern, or… are they born and bred from partisan motivations?

Only God knows the truth, and in this He promises to bless those who are falsely accused, reviled, or persecuted for His sake.

Sincerely

"Thou shalt not kill". There are no asterisks next to it that detail when it's ok to kill. It doesn't say "Thou shalt not kill....unless in times when politics deems it necessary".

Currently God is helping US soldiers kill other human beings in the middle east. You hear it all the time; Palin's spouting "God's Will" or "intent" is nothing new when it comes to war. How many times have you heard a soldier's mothers pray that God will be watching over her child while they are fighting? So God is supposed to protect these soldiers who are whole-heartedly breaking that sixth commandment? I guess it doesn't count if the one being killed doesn't believe in YOUR bible. Start praying Sarah Palin, so you son can be protected by God while he kills other people.

For Rabbi Sharon Brous' eyes only since she is a new commentator:

A Synopsis of the Flaws and Errors of the Major Religions:(this will save you a lot of time and money spent on reference books)

1. Abraham founder/father of three major religions was either the embellishment of the lives of three different men or a
mythical character as was mythical Moses, the "Tablet-Man" who talked to burning bushes and made much magic in Egypt.

Many of the 1.5 million Conservative Jews and many of their rabbis have relegated Abraham to the myth pile along with most if not all the OT.

Current crisis:
Realization that the Jews are not god's not chosen people.
simpletoremember.com/vitals/ConservativeTorah.htm

2. Jesus was an illiterate Jewish peasant/carpenter/simple preacher man who suffered from hallucinations and who has been characterized anywhere from the Messiah from Nazareth to a mythical character from mythical Nazareth to a mamzer from Nazareth (Professor Bruce Chilton, in his book Rabbi Jesus). Analyses of Jesus’ life by many contemporary NT scholars (e.g. Professors Crossan, Borg and Fredriksen, On Faith panelists) via the NT and related documents have concluded that only about 30% of Jesus' sayings and ways noted in the NT were authentic. The rest being embellishments (e.g. miracles)/hallucinations made/had by the NT authors to impress various Christian, Jewish and Pagan sects.

The 30% of the NT that is "authentic Jesus" like everything in life was borrowed/plagiarized and/or improved from those who came before. In Jesus' case, it was the ways and sayings of the Babylonians, Greeks, Persians, Egyptians, Hittites, Canaanites, OT, John the Baptizer and possibly the ways and sayings of traveling Greek Cynics. www. earlychristianwritings.com/theories.html

For added "pizzazz", Catholic/Christian theologians divided god the singularity into three persons and invented atonement as an added guilt trip for the "pew people" to go along with this trinity of overseers. By doing so, they made god the padre into god the "filicider".

Current crises:

Pedophiliac priests, atonement theology and original sin!!!!

3. Luther, Calvin, Smith, Henry VIII, Wesley et al, founders of Christian-based religions, also suffered from the belief in/hallucinations of "pretty wingie thingie" visits and "prophecies" for profits analogous to the myths of Catholicism (resurrections, apparitions, ascensions and immaculate conceptions).

Current crises:

Adulterous preachers, "propheteering/ profiteering" evangelicals and atonement theology. .

4. Mohammed was an illiterate, womanizing, lust and greed-driven, warmongering, hallucinating Arab, who also had embellishing/hallucinating/ plagiarizing scribal biographers who not only added "angels" and flying chariots to the koran but also a militaristic agenda to support the plundering and looting of the lands of non-believers.

This agenda continues as shown by the assassination of Bhutto, the conduct of the seven Muslim doctors in the UK, the 9/11 terrorists, the 24/7 Sunni suicide/roadside/market/mosque bombers, the 24/7 Shiite suicide/roadside/market/ mosque bombers, the Islamic bombers of the trains in the UK and Spain, the Bali crazies, the Kenya crazies, the Pakistani “koranics”, the Palestine suicide bombers/rocketeers, the Lebanese nutcases, the Taliban nut jobs, and the Filipino “koranics”.

And who funds this muck and stench of terror? The warmongering, Islamic, Shiite terror and torture theocracy of Iran aka the Third Axis of Evil and also the Sunni "Wannabees" of Saudi Arabia.

Current crises:

The Sunni-Shiite blood feud and the warmongering, womanizing (11 wives), hallucinating founder.

5. Hinduism (from an online Hindu site) - "Hinduism cannot be described as an organized religion. It is not founded by any individual. Hinduism is God centered and therefore one can call Hinduism as founded by God, because the answer to the question ‘Who is behind the eternal principles and who makes them work?’ will have to be ‘Cosmic power, Divine power, God’."

The caste/laborer system and cow worship/reverence are problems when saying a fair and rational God founded Hinduism."

Current crises:

The caste system and cow worship/reverence.

6. Buddhism- "Buddhism began in India about 500 years before the birth of Christ. The people living at that time had become disillusioned with certain beliefs of Hinduism including the caste system, which had grown extremely complex. The number of outcasts (those who did not belong to any particular caste) was continuing to grow."
"However, in Buddhism, like so many other religions, fanciful stories arose concerning events in the life of the founder, Siddhartha Gautama (fifth century B.C.):"

Archaeological discoveries have proved, beyond a doubt, his historical character, but apart from the legends we know very little about the circumstances of his life. e.g. Buddha by one legend was supposedly talking when he came out of his mother's womb.

Bottom line: There are many good ways of living but be aware of the hallucinations, embellishments, lies, and myths surrounding the founders and foundations of said rules of life.

What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations.

“I have sworn unto David my servant”
“Thy seed will I establish for ever”
“O ye seed of Abraham his servant”
“ye children of Jacob his chosen”

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself.

As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.

They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE ARK SAVE THE TWO TABLES OF STONE

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

“And he declared unto you his covenant”
“which he commanded you to perform”
“Ten Commandments”
“he wrote them upon two tables of stone”

“Lest ye corrupt yourselves”
“make you a graven image”
“the similitude of any figure”
“the likeness of male or female”
“The likeness of any beast that is on the earth”
“the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air”
“The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground”
“the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth”
“And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven”
“when thou seest the sun”
“the moon”
“even all the host of heaven”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

“WHEN THOU SEEST THE SUN”
“THE MOON”
“AND THE STARS”
“God made two great lights”
“the greater light to rule the day”
“the lesser light to rule the night”
“God called the light Day”
”the darkness he called Night
”he made the stars also”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY FISH THAT IS IN THE WATERS BENEATH THE EARTH”
“Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life”
“God created great whales”
“and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY THING THAT CREEPETH ON THE GROUND”
“God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY WINGED FOWL THAT FLIETH IN THE AIR”
“and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven”
“every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

““THE LIKENESS OF ANY BEAST THAT IS ON THE EARTH”
“and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”
“And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

“THE LIKENESS OF MALE OR FEMALE”
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

“MAKE YOU A GRAVEN IMAGE”
“THE SIMILITUDE OF ANY FIGURE”
“God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
“AND LEST THOU LIFT UP THINE EYES UNTO HEAVEN”
“EVEN ALL THE HOST OF HEAVEN”
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
“And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it”

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Folks,
Pam tries to excuse Obama's slick Willy move on the issue of when human life begins by claiming that he was not dodging a question about God's will but about when a baby gains rights. In fact, though, the question concerned when human life begins and that is not a question about legal rights at all.

It is a question about whether one human is able to snuff out the life of another if human life has begun. If that question is above the would-be president's pay grade then it is above the pay grade of Pam and everyone else on this Board.

Obama was dodging and Pam is trying to cover for him.

I don't know who Sarah Palin's God is.
It has to do with calling human beings to devote every breath, every day, to the holy task of bringing human dignity, equality, justice and peace to our world.

And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

"And there ye shall serve gods"
"the work of men's hands"
"wood and stone"

"But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God"
"thou shalt find him"
"if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul"

“sons of the priestess Rhea Silvia, fathered by the god of war, Mars”
“Luperca's husband is the Wolf-and-Shepherd-God Lupercus who brought fertility to the flocks.”

THE HOUSE OF SIMON THE LEPER
SHADOW OF DEATH LIGHT
THE DOG IS TURNED TO HIS OWN VOMIT AGAIN
THE SOW THAT WAS WASHED TO HER WALLOWING IN THE MIRE

After Atlas was forced to carry the heavens on his shoulders, Orion began to pursue all of the Pleiades, and Zeus transformed them first into doves, and then into stars to comfort their father. The constellation of Orion is said to still pursue them across the night sky.

“Orion began to pursue all of the Pleiades”
“Zeus transformed them first into doves”

Supposedly, Romulus had stood on one hill and Remus another, and a circle of birds flew over Romulus, signifying that he should be king.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

“the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

“went up straightway out of the water”
“heavens were opened unto him”
“he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove”
“This is my beloved Son”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

“And straightway coming up out of the water”
“he saw the heavens opened”
“and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:”
“Thou art my beloved Son”

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

“and they shall be my people”

And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

I agree completely with the views of Rabbi Brous, except for the inconvenient fact that there is not a single shred of plausible evidence for the existence of her god or anybody else's god. How dangerous to base the most important of decisions on what someone guesses are the commands of nonexistent supernatural beings. Will we ever wake up from this seductive but false dream?

Pam,

"Oh, merde du cheval. He wasn't asked about "God's will", he was asked at what point a "baby" obtained "rights"."

When *does* a "baby" obtain rights? While it may be "above our pay grades" the President will help make the decision. The Romans used to permit exposing "babies" for up to ten days after birth. "Baby" girls, especially. How say you?

Brilliant response! The second paragraph is the most succinct summary of the effect religion should have on its adherants that I have ever read!

I think religion doesn't have a place in politics. Further, politicians generally use religion as a tool to mislead the masses and exploit their predisposition for altruism. With Palin, I’m not sure whether she is a wacko or just a really sophisticated politician using the age-old tool of religion.

Rabbi Brous is absolutely right!

It's one thing to have bad politics -- but for Palin to claim that God is on the side of her shameless pork and the heartbreaking mistake of Iraq is disgraceful and unctuous.

I completely agree with Rabbi Brous' deeply insightful perspective. I would also add that invoking God in the way that Palin does only serves to further divide people by suggesting that people who do not share her distorted views are somehow irreligious or morally bankrupt. It's comparable to the Bush administration's attempt to paint all non-supporters of the Iraq War as unpatriotic. This rhetorical bludgeoning is despicable and inimical to the operation of a democratic society.

" Obama just punts on the whole question of God's will, claiming it is 'above his pay grade'."

Oh, merde du cheval. He wasn't asked about "God's will", he was asked at what point a "baby" obtained "rights".

He said that if you were to look at it from either a theological or a scientific viewpoint, it was above his pay grade - meaning that he was neither a theologian, nor a scientist. He then went on to explain his position based on the law - something he does know about.

Please stop spreading lies.

I don't believe that Rabbi Brous is suggesting that there are two different gods-hers and Palins- far from it. Even if Rabbi Brous was a new testament follower- her assertion still makes sense. Her assertion is that Palin has a very different view of God and Jesus if she believes that God advocates sending people to war or cares about Alaska's earmarks and pipelines. God should not be shield behind which we advocate certain policies rather it is with the humility and awe that comes from being a child of God that Palin should govern.

"My God is busy being concerned with the abuse of the widow and the orphan, the oppression of the stranger, the struggle of the poor."

I'm sure the widow, orphan, stranger, and poor appreciate the "concern", because, you know, hand-wringing has always done so much for them.

Outstanding piece Rabbi Brous. I wish more people would be so upfront about Palin.

Sharon,
To quote the Sh'ma: the Lord is One ("Adonai echod" in the original). IOW, Governor Palin's God is your God, whether you want to admit it or not.

That is not to say she is necessarily right on her pipeline theology. Yet, even if she has incorrectly divined the will of God, she is at least thinking about His Will. Obama just punts on the whole question of God's will, claiming it is "above his pay grade." That may be a way worthy of Slick Willy to avoid the question posed, but it is hardly a more commendable approach to dealing with profoundly serious questions.

People really need to read the Bible....Old and New Testaments! Then you will know that Jehovah (the God of the Old Testament) and Jesus (from the New Testament) are one and the same!
