The President's Speech: Happiness and Disappointment

I applaud President Obama for his clear and unambiguous proclamation of freedom of religion. President Obama affirmed that "People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind, and the heart, and the soul" echoing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I was extremely disappointed President Obama did not take this opportunity in Cairo to applaud the United States military and its valiant and sacrificial efforts to liberate Muslims in Kuwait, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq from severe persecution and tyranny.

'Cause that wasn't the purpose of this speech, nor the right audience. That sort of thing ought to be in a military briefing. Our troops have their own religious/racial issues, 'cause many are really young, and a hallmark of the late teens, early 20s is often a black and white approach to things. We need the above paragraph said to troops who use terms like "ragheads", etc. THEY need to hear we aren't at war with Islam...cause many think they are.

Mr Land: I'm sorry you are disappointed. Don't you think President Obama accomplished enough in one speech? I'm just happen that our posturing "bring em on" "leader" has been replaced by someone who knows history, who understands the world, and who has the maturity to project the best of our country to the world. What a great speech!

Mr Land, you and Rush can go share cry in your beer together...oh, sorry, you don't drink beer. And BTW, which Muslims in Iraq? Iraq is a war between two different Muslim groups. Which do we support? In other Muslim countries? Or do we support Shia in Iraq, and Sunnis other places? You're all wet.

*noting she had to claw her way past all manner of theological *spam* her way to say, 'Yay, Obama. Well done. That's us. That's what we wanted. That's what we voted for.'

Lookit this BS.

No wonder everyone wants to hate the U.S. and the US wants to hate everyone. but no one knows why.

Cause none of it was real.

It was spam. Maniacs drive sensible people out of talking to each other.

Maybe I'm one of the *maniacs,* in a way, but I do believe we must meet each other.

I believe, I *know,* that some parts of life are simpler than all this, and that all we need is a thing to do side-by-side... And it doesn't have to be a Gods-damned 'holy war' *either.*

It's simpler.

And less crazy.

Let's *make* something. Just a thing. Together. Whattya say?

Ah, shaddup. Really.

Obama went to Cairo. Made friends with nearly all Muslims, undid a lot of Bush/Cheney/Rummy epic fail at a shot, and *still* scared all those 'Islamic radicals everyone is scared of.

Gods, the *real baddies are like, 'We have a 'wise enemy,' who we'll justify calling an enemy later...

Epic win, Obama.

Now it's just about actually being the good guys.

If Bush didn't transfer *all* our stuff to be good guys *with* into some failed corporate 'Aaaa, I can't live without *three* hundred billion!' hands.

This is *the stuff.*

This is why this man is President.

He speaks for *me,* and it's been a *long* time since I got *that* out of a White House, I assure you.
