How Does What You Believe Shape You?
Like democracy, belief in God is something that must be discovered through the intellect and the heart in a free society, not a world that forces an ideology on people. Faith has to inform and guide you in your decision making. Otherwise, why believe in something? The question is, how does what you believe in shape you, and how does what you believe in shape the way you view people(s) and/or countries that don't share the same beliefs as you? Even though 75% of Americans identify themselves as having Christian beliefs, that means there are another 25% who have other beliefs, and they are citizens of this country that deserve to be represented with just as much respect and dignity. How you receive those who don't agree with you is just as important as how you treat your fellow believers.
