Obama's Election Put America Back In Front
The election of Barack Obama is one of the most heart warming things to have happened in recent years.
America has put its segregated past behind it, a black man is elected President, the nation is more united, the young have voted, African Americans have voted, and for poor older African Americans, who experienced the discrimination of the segregated and racist years, this is a new dawn. As an outsider, observing from the UK, this says to the world that America is changing, and that it wants to include all its citizens in its democracy. So, ultimately, it will want to include all the world's citizens in its wider diplomacy and in the world's debate about the issues that face us all- economics, climate change, world hunger. civil wars. This time, it will be an inclusive lead from the United States. Fantastic.
