He'd Be a Crucified Demopublican

If the historical Jesus were running for our United States presidency, He would be a Demopublican, combining what is affirmative in both parties, rejecting shrillness, anger, posturing, and denouncing the corruption made inevitable by the necessary scrounging for money, much to the anger, I am sure, of television and newspaper profit makers, to say nothing of political hangers-on, and talking heads prostituting their voices for profit. In the case of abortion or the death penalty or war, He would place the work of every individual soul before God above all considerations. I think He would also be assassinated, lynched, or if you prefer, crucified as before.

Got it. If Jesus has anything close to a brain He will not be running for president -"I think He would also be assassinated, lynched, or if you prefer, crucified as before."

I'm sure the moral majority would go for the crucify option given the chance. Many are baptized several times so why not crucify the son of God a time or two -there's never to much of a good thing.

Rev, don't you think it's a bit ridiculous to expect God forgives those who crucified His son? Ridiculous is the word that describes Jesus running for president isn't it? We can be sure the moral majority wouldn't vote for Him.

Jesus is definitely a Democrat. Al Gore can testify that being a Democrat alone is enough to be deprived of the office no matter what the vote says so running would be a waste of time to say nothing of being, "assassinated, lynched, or if you prefer, crucified as before." Maybe we could change "as before" to "as usual."

Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you.

Josef

You are a sociopath. Get yourself locked up, for your own protection, and for ours. You are despicable.

Christ would be crucified. That is assured. Because all of human society is the same today as all of human society was in His time; inherently selfish. We do not tolerate someone demanding self sacrifice in the interest of those outside our circle, let alone our enemies.

"Give my watch to the man who stole my phone? Are you crazy?" ... "Sacrifice a year of my life, so that one might experience life itself?. Uhhh... No." ... "Seek forgiveness instead of vengeance when wronged?" Yeah, you think Willie Horton was bad. Mankind would use every scare tactic possible because, on our own, we all lack the faith required to surrender to true suffering in order to better our world.
