Terrorism is a Weapon
Religious extremism and terrorism are separate issues, confronted differently. People are free to be fervent in their religious beliefs (and the government should not decide what is extreme belief and what isn't). So I think it would be ill advised for the President to denounce a religious belief system as such.
Terrorism, on the other hand, is a weapon, used by evil people. It is particularly evil when terrorists do so in the name of religion. Terrorism is fought by good intelligence work and preemptive actions wherever possible.

With the recent release of more Nixon tapes, we are reminded again that it was you, Chuck Colson, who acted to undermine our democracy with your domestic acts of political terrorism on behalf of your evil boss.
The fact that you have been given an "On Faith" platform to preach from is the real crime.

Mr. Colson,
Keep up the good work that you are doing. There are still many of us out here, though much fewer than there used to be, that try not to be of the cynical-minded , hateful and unforgiving spirit that is sadly becoming more and more pervasive in this world and even more sadly starting to take its toll on the world as a whole.
