Two Kingdoms

No, they are two different "kingdoms." One is the Kingdom of God and the other is the Kingdom of this world.

Fair enough, but why then does Mr. Thomas consistently seek to impose his Christian values in the public square, i.e. "the kingdom of this world"?

“my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept”
“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job”
“when he prayed for his friends”
“So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning”
“Turn you at my reproof”
“I will pour out my spirit unto you”
“I will make known my words unto you”
“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.”

My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.
An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.
Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.
Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.
Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.
The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein.

Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Let her kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love me.

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

“Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing”
“let them not feed, nor drink water”
“But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God”
“let them turn every one from his evil way”
“Who can tell if God will turn and repent”
“turn away from his fierce anger”
“God saw their works”
“that they turned from their evil way”
“God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them”
“and he did it not”

Godfrey I think you are right that Mr Thomas needs to expand, I thought he was I suggesting quite the opposite - a women could lead the church but not the nation.

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake”
“and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

“But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it”
“lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.”
“And to him they agreed”
“they COMMANDED THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SPEAK IN THE NAME OF JESUS”
“And they departed from the presence of the council”
“REJOICING THAT THEY WERE COUNTED WORTHY TO SUFFER SHAME FOR HIS NAME.”

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

“For thy sake we are killed all the day long”
“we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

“Awake to righteousness”
“and sin not”
“for some have not the knowledge of God”
“I speak this to your shame.”

There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.

“they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword”
“BEAR their shame with them that go down to the pit.”

If this is one nation under God, which God is it under. The purpose of this is for your benefit. Who has taught the TEN COMMANDENTS as I have. Who has blessed Israel as I have. Who teaches the Truth like I have. Who has revealed secrets like I have. Who delivers you from evil like I have. If I do not destroy the Gospels, New Testament, and Revelation, it will destroy you and your seed. “This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.” “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion” “turneth the shadow of death into the morning” “that calleth for the waters of the sea”
“and poureth them out upon the face of the earth” “This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.”
I ask you wise men, who converts the sinner, “The Angel which redeemed me from all evil”. I ask you who teaches the Sons of Aaron. Who truly preaches Love and Peace. Who shows you the reward for following righteousness, “The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life”. Who has shown you the reward for evil and war. Who has clearly shown you the path to Heaven. Who among you has eyes that see, ears that hear, a heart to perceive like me.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

“in seven there shall no evil touch thee”
“he shall redeem thee from death”
“in war from the power of the sword”
“Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue”
“neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh”
“For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field”
“and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.”

Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: the Lord is his name:

“Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion”
“turneth the shadow of death into the morning”
“that calleth for the waters of the sea”
“and poureth them out upon the face of the earth”
“the Lord is his name”

“SEEK HIM THAT MAKETH THE SEVEN STARS AND ORION”

Orion a constellation often referred to as The Hunter, is a prominent constellation, one of the largest and perhaps the best-known and most conspicuous in the sky. Its brilliant stars are found on the celestial equator and are visible throughout the world. Its three prominent "belt" stars - three stars of medium brightness in the mid-section of this constellation - make this constellation easy to spot and globally recognized. From mid-northern latitudes, Orion is visible in the evening from October to early January and in the morning from late July to November.
According to the most common contemporary imagery: Orion is standing next to the river Eridanus with his two hunting dogs Canis Major and Canis Minor, fighting Taurus the bull.

“For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.”
“And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,”
”And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.”

As you can clearly see Orion, the Hunter is David. Who makes the seven stars, are they the seven sons of Job(Jesse)?

“TURNETH THE SHADOW OF DEATH INTO THE MORNING”

And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

“The Angel which redeemed me from all evil”
“bless the lads”
“let my name be named on them”
“the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac”

“And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.”
“And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.”

“Let us go down after the Philistines by night”
“spoil them until the morning light”
“and let us not leave a man of them”
“Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken”
“wherefore she told him nothing, less or more”
“until the morning light.”

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this.
Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this.
Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these.
And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

“But the Lord said unto Samuel”
“Look not on his countenance”
“or on the height of his stature”
“for the Lord seeth not as man seeth”
“but the Lord looketh on the heart”
“Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel”
“Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these.”
“behold, he keepeth the sheep”
“Then Samuel took the horn of oil”
“and anointed him in the midst of his brethren”
“and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward”

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

“David the son of Jesse”
“the man who was raised up on high”
“the anointed of the God of Jacob”
“The Spirit of the Lord spake by me”
“his word was in my tongue”
“He that ruleth over men must be just”
“he shall be as the light of the morning”
“when the sun riseth”
“even a morning without clouds”

And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

“who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?”

And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
And she called his name Joseph; and said, The Lord shall add to me another son.

“God hearkened to her, and opened her womb”
“God hath taken away my reproach”
“she called his name Joseph”
“and said, The Lord shall add to me another son”

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.
And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

“he lifted up his eyes”
“saw his brother Benjamin”
“his mother's son”
“And Joseph made haste”
“for his bowels did yearn upon his brother”

And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.

“behold, your eyes see”
“the eyes of my brother Benjamin”
“that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.”

And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.

“And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing”
“that she called his name Benoni”
“but his father called him Benjamin”

And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.

“Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house”
“they fell before him on the ground.”

Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

“Joseph is a fruitful bough”
“even a fruitful bough by a well”
“whose branches run over the wall:”
“and by the Almighty”
“who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above”
“blessings of the deep that lieth under”
“blessings of the breasts”
“and of the womb”
“The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors”
“utmost bound of the everlasting hills”
“they shall be on the head of Joseph”

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

“The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life”

And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.

“Joseph fell upon his father's face”
“wept upon him”
“and kissed him”

Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.

“Now the man Moses was very meek”
“above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.”

The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.

“This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.”

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.
All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

“The meek shall eat and be satisfied”
“: they shall praise the Lord that seek him”
“your heart shall live for ever.”
“A seed shall serve him”
“it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation”
“They shall come”
“shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born”

And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, See”
“Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.”

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for My name is in him.

“I send an Angel before thee”
“to keep thee in the way”
“to bring thee into the place which I have prepared”
“for My name is in him”

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

“Then said David”
” I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts”

And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him.

“And it came to pass in the morning”
“Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David”

And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.
And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

“David went out to meet them”
“and answered and said unto them”
“If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me”
“mine heart shall be knit unto you”
“but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies”
“the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.”
“Then the spirit came upon Amasai”
“David, and on thy side”
“thou son of Jesse”
“peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helper”
“Then David received them”

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.
Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

“that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David”
“Jonathan loved him as his own soul”
“Then Jonathan and David made a covenant”
“because he loved him as his own soul”

And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.
And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, saying, The Lord be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.

“David arose out of a place toward the south”
“fell on his face to the ground”
“bowed himself three times”
“they kissed one another”
“Jonathan said to David”
“Go in peace”
“forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord”
“The Lord be between me and thee”
“between my seed and thy seed for ever”

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

“I love them that love me”
“those that seek me early shall find me”
“The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way”
“I was set up from everlasting”
“from the beginning, or ever the earth was”

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

“Before the mountains were brought forth”
“even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God”

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

“But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him”
“his righteousness unto children's children”
“To such as keep his covenant”
“to those that remember his commandments to do them”

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him”
“he will shew them his covenant”

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

“Turn you at my reproof: behold”
“I will pour out my spirit unto you”
“I will make known my words unto you.”
“Because I have called, and ye refused”
“I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;”
“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely”
“shall be quiet from fear of evil.”

Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.
I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!

“Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives”
“and in their death they were not divided”
“Ye daughters of Israel”
“weep over Saul”
“I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan”
“thy love to me was wonderful”
“passing the love of women”

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

“David said in his heart”
“I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul”

And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

“Thus saith the Lord God of Israel”
“I anointed thee king over Israel”
“I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul”

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

“A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

“Ye that love the Lord, hate evil”

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil”

Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting”

You can clearly see Solomon is between David/Joseph and Saul/Jonathan. This is Heaven and Earth, Earth and Heaven. But I have not revealed there are many joined in David/Joseph and Saul/Jonathan. The faith of the children of the LORD starts with Abraham and ends with Abraham. Heaven is Love and Peace.

“MAKETH THE DAY DARK WITH NIGHT”

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name:
If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

“I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:”
“I will put my law in their inward parts”
“write it in their hearts”
“Know the Lord: for they shall all know me”
“from the least of them unto the greatest of them”
“saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity”
“I will remember their sin no more.”
“Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day”
“and the ordinances of the moon”
“of the stars for a light by night”
“which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar”
“The Lord of hosts is his name”
“If those ordinances depart from before me”
“then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.”

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

“Therefore he said that he would destroy them”
“had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach”
“to turn away his wrath”
“lest he should destroy them”

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High”
“shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Then Job answered and said,
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

“I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?”
“Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not”
“and sealeth up the stars”
“Which alone spreadeth out the heavens”
“Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades”

Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation Boötes, and the third brightest star in the night sky, with a visual magnitude of −0.05, after Sirius and Canopus, although it is fainter than the combined light of the two main components of Alpha Centauri, which are too close together for the eye to resolve as separate sources of light, making Arcturus appear to be the fourth brightest. It is the second brightest star visible from northern latitudes and the brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere. The star is in the Local Interstellar Cloud. The name of the star derives from ancient Greek Αρκτοῦρος (Arktouros) and means "Bear Guard."

The Pleiades companions of Artemis, were the seven daughters of the titan Atlas and the sea-nymph Pleione born on Mount Cyllene. They are the sisters of Calypso, Hyas, the Hyades, and the Hesperides. The Pleiades were nymphs in the train of Artemis, and together with the seven Hyades were called the Atlantides, Dodonides, or Nysiades, nursemaids and teachers to the infant Bacchus. After Atlas was forced to carry the heavens on his shoulders, Orion began to pursue all of the Pleiades, and Zeus transformed them first into doves, and then into stars to comfort their father. The constellation of Orion is said to still pursue them across the night sky.

Do you not understand maketh the day dark with night. The morning light is dawn, after that Moses rises up into the clouds, that is “had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach” “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High” “shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” “Now the man Moses was very meek” “above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.” If you look down you will see the light. “Joseph fell upon his father's face” “Now the man Moses was very meek” “above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.” The light is the path. The shadow of death comes from having the sun casting a shadow, this is the light of the world. That is why you are to wear head covering when outdoors. “I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?” “Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not”
“and the ordinances of the moon” There is a New Moon feast, that is of David. The full moon casts shadows. This is the light for those who dwell in darkness.
“of the stars for a light by night” “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion” Canis Major and Canis Minor, fighting Taurus the bull. Arcturus means "Bear Guard." The Pleiades the sea-nymph Pleione After Atlas was forced to carry the heavens on his shoulders Zeus transformed them first into doves, and then into stars to comfort their father. The constellation of Orion is said to still pursue them across the night sky. “and sealeth up the stars”

Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Lord our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.

“Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain”
“or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Lord our God”

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

“generations of the heavens and of the earth”
“the day that the Lord made the earth and the heavens”

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

“the day that the Lord made the earth and the heavens”

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

“Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak”
“and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth”
“My doctrine shall drop as the rain”
“Because I will publish the name of the Lord”

But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

“drinketh water of the rain of heaven”
“A land which the Lord thy God careth for”

“I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain”
Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

“I will rain bread from heaven for you”
“the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day”
“I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no”

Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

“the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season”
“to bless all the work of thine hand”
“the Lord shall make thee the head”

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

“The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.”

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
“And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it”

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

He with the gold shall make the rules while she with the gold shall also make the rules. Change gold to oil.

In the kingdom of God only "He" shall have the gold or oil or anything else worth having because "He" makes the rules in the kingdom of earth run by holy men. Whether or not women will be allowed in the ministry is determined by holy men making up God's mind.

Mr. Thomas, I believe you need to expand on that a little. Are you saying women are competent in the kingdom of the world, but stupid in the kingdom of heaven?

You're right, Mr. Thomas. And you and the rest of the old white males who want to stay in power to the exclusion of others have lost that power in one Kingdom, and are about to lose it in another.

Hope you enjoyed it while it lasted!

The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

the latter end of Job

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.
So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.

“Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him”
“sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.”
“So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights”
“none spake a word unto him”
“for they saw that his grief was very great”

Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job.
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

“And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job”
“the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite,”
“My wrath is kindled against thee”
“and against thy two friends”
“for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right”
“as my servant Job hath”
“my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept”
“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job”
“when he prayed for his friends”
“So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning”

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” “God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”

I know I have made it very clear everything God created is rejected of the LORD. This is the end of the world. The sinner creatures reject the Ten Commandments

And he declared unto you his covenant,
which he commanded you to perform,
even ten commandments;
and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days”
“And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit”
“I will shew wonders in heaven above”
“signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke”
“The sun shall be turned into darkness”
” and the moon into blood,”
“before that great and notable day of the Lord come”
“And it shall come to pass”
“that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

“Turn you at my reproof”
“I will pour out my spirit unto you”
“I will make known my words unto you”
“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
“AND LEST THOU LIFT UP THINE EYES UNTO HEAVEN”
“EVEN ALL THE HOST OF HEAVEN”

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

“WHEN THOU SEEST THE SUN”
“THE MOON”

“God made two great lights”
“the greater light to rule the day”
“the lesser light to rule the night”

God called the light Day
the darkness he called Night
“When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
“The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.”
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY FISH THAT IS IN THE WATERS BENEATH THE EARTH”

“Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life”
“God created great whales”
“and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY THING THAT CREEPETH ON THE GROUND”

“God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing”

“THE LIKENESS OF ANY WINGED FOWL THAT FLIETH IN THE AIR”

“and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven”
“every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

““THE LIKENESS OF ANY BEAST THAT IS ON THE EARTH”

“and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”
“And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

“THE LIKENESS OF MALE OR FEMALE”

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

“MAKE YOU A GRAVEN IMAGE”
“THE SIMILITUDE OF ANY FIGURE”

“God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”
“AND LEST THOU LIFT UP THINE EYES UNTO HEAVEN”
“EVEN ALL THE HOST OF HEAVEN”

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”

“LEST YE CORRUPT YOURSELVES”

“And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it”

“Lest ye corrupt yourselves”
“make you a graven image”
“the similitude of any figure”
“the likeness of male or female”
“The likeness of any beast that is on the earth”
“the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air”
“The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground”
“the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth”
“And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven”
“when thou seest the sun”
“the moon”
“even all the host of heaven”

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

The answer is in the Bible. Palin or any woman can hold any secular position without conflicting with the Bible's teaching, including The President. And a woman can hold a powerful position in the church. But a woman should not be the spiritual leader or teacher in a Christian Church. The Bible is clear that this role belongs to a male. It is really not something to question unless you want to question the Bible as God's Word.

This question, like many others on this blog, is really about the Bible. Either you accept the Bible or you don't. If you don't want to follow the Bible, then there are plenty of churches who have women as spiritual leaders. I do not judge them but just prefer to go to church where I beleive God's Word is obeyed.

America is a great country so you can practice your religion your way and I can practice it my way and we both can enjoy a woman VP or better yet a woman President some day. Hopefully a woman with the character and values of Sara Palin!

I don't think Cal Thomas really cares. He is content with his very simple ideas. And, I suppose that is ok. At least he was not particularly mean or offensive; he is ahead of alot of his Christian brethren on that account.

This looks like a statement in which Mr. Thomas would like to perpetuate old, damaging ideas about women and men and where they belong in society and church, and can't even be bothered to back up his statements with any argument. It looks as though that he expects his readers to be content with this statement as though it is fact.

I don't usually have much good to say about his posts, but this is particularly shameful.

Maggie Thatcher did a pretty good job of running a country.

Cal - you finally admit that church and state should be separate! :D

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives and mother of six children, is only two heart beats away from being President of the USA so obviously JM's choice of VP, i.e. Sarah Palin, is not a shocking development.

With respect to the few women in leadership roles in the Christian religions, thank "Saint" Paul, the Prude for this.

e.g. "He (Paul) feared the turn-on of women's voices as much as the sight of their hair and skin..... At one point he even suggests that the sight of female hair might distract any "pretty wingie talking fictional thingies" in church attendance (1 Cor. 11:10).

Simply add Paul's thinking about women to the list of flaws in the foundations of Christianity.

Of course the koran's allowed mistreatments of women are 24/7 news' items. And it explains the problem of women being imams/clerics in Islam.

A few excerpts from Ayaan Hirsi Ali's book about the problem as additional evidence:

p. 47 paperback issue:

"Some of the Saudi women in our neighborhood were regularly beaten by their husbands. You could hear them at night. Their screams resounded across the courtyards. "No! Please! By Allah!"

p.68:

"The Pakistanis were Muslims but they too had castes. The Untouchable girls, both Indian and Pakistani were darker skin. The others would not play with them because they were untouchable. We thought that was funny because of course they were touchable: we touched them see? but also horrifying to think of yourself as untouchable, despicable to the human race."

p. 347

"The kind on thinking I saw in Saudi Arabia and among the Brotherhood of Kenya and Somalia, is incompatible with human rights and liberal values. It preserves the feudal mind-set based on tribal concepts of honor and shame. It rests on self-deception, hyprocricy, and double standards. It relies on the technologial advances of the West while pretending to ignore their origin in Western thinking. This mind-set makes the transition to modernity very painful for all who practice Islam".

p.309

"Between October 2004 and May 2005, eleven Muslim girls were killed by their families in just two regions (there are 20 regions in Holland). After that, people stopped telling me I was exaggerating."
