Faith is not a New Age Belief

Faith is not a New Age belief. It is very old and very deeply set in common human belief from very old times.

I am sure that faith can affect one's health. People usually live a psycho-physical symbiotic existence, and as such, many things that have any connection with the soul have an influence on physical health. In that sense, almost anything that happens within a person's spirit affects the physical. Some emotions or events are very obvious: happiness or failure, success or depression – all have some influence on the body, and in some way affect physical health.

In sum, faith is something that clearly has a connection with the soul and with the inner workings of man's mentality, and therefore has some influence on health too. On the other hand, however, we should not exaggerate the power of faith in changing major physical symptoms.

On: BEACON of SiNGULARiTY, not of PLURALiTY in AM-ERiCA!

Mr. Eboo: You naively said.

""MY" lead Essay, I highlight America’s combination of religious devotion and religious diversity, and call for us to be '[A MODEL' of religious-'PLURALiSM' in a world too often characterized by religious conflict."

Pssst. Psssst. Guess what;

You are a sick puppy, if ye thinketh that PLURALiSM of any of ye Pre-Apocalyptic is the Solution to all Pre-Apocalyptic Religio(n) Pollution!

O.U.R. 'U.S. Federal Government" hath ZERO-Biz giving tax-payers 'Hand-outs' to any I.R.S. Tax Exempt Pre-Apocalyptic Institution, aka 'Not For Profit CORPORATiONS!" [they are one of the same thing]. And

in your last 'Essay' you are (like a dribbling Wolf) saying that 'FAiTH BASED iNiTiAtives' should be extended under Borat Hussain Obama too!!! Please tell me if "i"m wrong! Money, Money, Money, Tax-Free!

Question Eboo: How Much income-Tax, if any, did you Personaly Pay-out (into the Faith Based initiative secret Slushhy-Religio-fundo) and how much did ye Organization pay-out in Taxes, thus contributing to that hidden? $2 Billion Hidden religio Slushy-fund????

What you fail to understand is that prayer (tefillah) is essential to the health of the soul. An example of this could be that if a person falls ill, it can be that Hashem is sending a message to that person (an affliction of love). When the person understands what he or she has done wrong and corrects it spiritually, then the Neshama (soul), and in turn the body, is returned to health. It is a basic concept, but most people don't quite understand the connection between themselves and Hashem.

To give you a story, a man was once having severe back problems and went to multiple Dr's. After they told him that the only treatment was surgery, which was risky, he went to the Lubavitcher Rebbe Z"tl for a blessing that he should survive the surgery. The Rebbe told him he didn't need the surgery but a cream and sent him to another Dr who looked him over and prescribed a cream. He used the cream and was cured of his back problem. The surgeon's were astonished and asked that Dr what cream he used. He said the cheapest one. The cream acted as the catalyst while the cure (tefilla) was with him all along.

The rabbi says; "In sum, faith is something that clearly has a connection with the soul and with the inner workings of man's mentality, and therefore has some influence on health too."

really? because faith has a connection with the soul it influences health too? Have there been any medical studies done on the soul? or connections between the "soul" and "health?" If not, then perhaps this information came as a revelation from God?

The rabbi goes on to say: "On the other hand, however, we should not exaggerate the power of faith in changing major physical symptoms."

Any tips on how to do that, Rabbi? Pray less? Pray only about certain health issues?

By the way, it sounds like you're backpedaling a little - faith helps health, but not so much.

Your essay is incredibly disappointing. I don't expect much form the likes of Chuck Colson, but I did expect more from a Talmudic scholar.

There goes another brilliant idea out the window. I was sure America's pastor, Billy Graham invented faith and holds a patent on it. That hoax buster fellow is denying his patent on God while allowing him to continue his deal with the Devil Lucifer, or something like that.

Who besides me thinks Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz is a much more acceptable national pastor than Billy Graham if we got to have one at all? He's what I always figured God looks like. I understand that one of his boys made it all the way to God so God can't be ruled out. How sad that the best preachers can do is America's pastor while priests can only make it to pope.
