Not Just Words but Deeds
Apologies are private or public announcements of regret. When one does or says something that he regrets, he must apologize. Apologies may just be forms of polite behavior, as when one bumps into someone in the street, or they may be sincere expressions of repentance.
Even when apologies contain clear expressions of deep regret or repentance, they do not always express the truth. Criminals in court may express regret, sometimes even asking for forgiveness from the victim. In some cases, these apologies are genuine; in others, they are just another attempt by a condemned criminal to lessen his sentence.
Apologies made by public figures are oftentimes political moves that are born of necessity or public pressure. The only thing that such an apology conveys is that a person (or a community) acknowledges the words or deeds of which they are accused. A statement of confession is just a statement, and as such, of doubtful validity. The heart of the matter is whether the apology contains a real sense of repentance, and that is a question that only the all-knowing Almighty can answer.
An apology is a nice first step, but in order for it to be taken seriously - and perhaps ultimately result in forgiveness - it must be accompanied by deeds that attempt to correct the wrongs of the past, or, at the very least, a counter-measure against sins that have been committed. Sometimes it is easy to make such amends (e.g., giving back stolen money), but in other cases, it takes years of changed behavior to confirm true repentance.

Sinner creatures who serve other "gods" with their memorials, "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
Remember in Genesis 40 it is written, "And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt. And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers."
Now look at "And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes: And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand. And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days: Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler."
Do you not see, "Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place"
Now to, "And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days: Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee. And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand: But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them."
Recall, "Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day." The cup is of Pharaoh his brothers blood, "thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand" Now look at "and the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;" Do you not see "thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand" look at "to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand" the cup is from Cain. The Son of Man. Remember the LORD said to Adam, "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life" Now look again at "in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life"
He eats blood of those slained of Cain, his brothers.
now to "But he hanged the chief baker" this is the "god" of the sinner creatures who hung on the cross. Remeber, "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." Now look at, "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Cristians get the bread from the serpent, Satan.
The sinner creatures who worship their "gods" celebrate Easter, "And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants" Easter is Pharaoh's birthday.
In the Psalms it is written, "For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand." it is also written, "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like man, and fall like one of the princes." the promise of GOD to his servent's enemies, "But ye shall die like man" they eat the serpent's bread all the days of their life, the body of christ them and their own seed, and drink the own seed's blood when they are slain by cain.
Do you not see "Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand" this is Pharaoh(Set thou a wicked man over him), the son of man, CAIN(and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand), and the serpent (let Satan stand at his right hand of Cain), the the father, the son, the holy ghost of the sinner creatures of the christian faith.
Remember Jesus said "I will raise him up at the last day" the servents of Pharaoh, "and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants" "Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand" the "god who lifts up the sinner creatures of the christian faith is Pharaoh, their "god"
Isaiah wrote, "But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob."
Moses wrote in the Law, "And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee."
GLORY TO THE BLESSED LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, THE GOD OF THE HEBREWS
In the Psalms it is written, "They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea. Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word"
"they believed not his word:" "And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee."

This is from another thread:
The Eclatarian faith, or Church of the New Song, was originally founded by Harry Theriault and Jerry M. Dorrough at the federal penitentiary at Atlanta, Georgia, allegedly as the result of visions experienced by Theriault at the Marion, Illinois federal penitentiary in which he received prophetic messages from 'Eclat' informing him that he was the 'Eclatarian Nazarite' and directing him to establish CONS -the Church of the New Song.
Theriault acquired his Doctor of Divinity certificate through a mail order application. Theriault then, as self-appointed 'Bishop of Tellus' ordained Dorrough First Revelation Minister of the Church of the New Song.
Harry W. Theriault claims to be, among other things, the second Messiah, Shiloh, and the Bishop of Earth (Tellus)
In the document submitted by Harry W. Theriault he claims that he would have established a new World order by 1976.
The Church of the New Song appears not to be a religion, but rather as a masquerade designed to obtain First Amendment protection for acts which
otherwise would be unlawful and/or reasonably disallowed by the various prison authorities but for the attempts which have been and are being made to classify them as "religious" and, therefore, presumably protected by the First Amendment.
Rather than urging upon its followers any particular theology or philosophy of life, the Church of the New Song appears to encourage a relatively non-structured and free-form, do-as-you-please philosophy, the sole purpose
of which is to cause or encourage disruption of established prison discipline for the sake of disruption. Disruption of and/or problems for
prison authorities is not the result of this religion; it is rather the underlying purpose of it. For example, the "Church's" one attempt at a paschal type feast produced a tongue-in-cheek request for prison authorities to supply Porterhouse Steaks and Harvey's Bristol Cream.

Who is the strength of Israel? Here is the answer, follow me. 1Samuel 15, "And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent."
Do you see, "the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man" The strength of Israel is Sarah, woman, "for he is not a man." In Genesis it is written "But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife." Do you see "for she is a man's wife" this is woman. She is Man's helper.
"Psalmms" 135 "Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations. For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants." didn't you see, "that he should repent." "he will repent himself concerning his servants." Man serves G'D and Woman serves Man, she is his strength and helper.
In Genesis it is written "And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Do you see, "it shall bruise thy head", the Head of WOMAN IS BRUSIED, Man's. Look at in Job, "So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown." Now look at "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil." Do you see "whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil" What does the "Psalms say, "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace." Do you not see, "that man was perfect and upright" and David wrote "Mark the perfect man"
Now to "thou shalt bruise his heel." Woman will bruise the serpent's heel. Now look at "And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them." "and his hand took hold on Esau's heel" The perfect man is Jacob. Israel is BORN of the perfect Man and Woman. NOW LOOK AT "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman" Look what is written in Ecclesiastes 3, "I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts." Israel is not Born of Adam, but of Jacob, the PERFECT MAN AND WOMAN.
hope this helps.
This is what sinner creatures believe, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:" "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?"
The sons of man are beasts, serpents.

Frank Collins,
You said : if you ever post on pam's islamic post you now have to go through a vetting procedure and she now decides if the 1st amendment applies to her. you either accept her lies about ahppy time islam or you dont get posted. wellcome to islam.
A bit harsh eh? What vetting procedure? If any, it is by WaPo. It is their site and they set the terms as clearly stated, not Imam Pamela Taylor.
As for alleged "lies" by Pamela Taylor, now, now, just because what she said does not fit in with your preconceived and set notions does not warrant that allegation. Simply to agree to disagree without calling someone is a liar is an option.
As we are talking about apology, forgiveness and repentance here, I don't think you will ever apologize to Imam Pamela Taylor for, in effect, calling her a liar. I have no doubt at all she will forgive you for that if you deign to apologize. But, I am sure you are unrepentant and will continue to call what she said as "lies".
And whatever happened to good old vaunted American freedom of belief and freedom of expression in Imam Pamela Taylor's case?
I am more angered by Paul Wolfowitz, as President of World Bank then anyone else listed by WaPo on the non-apology apology. As is most others in the global financial/banking business.
Wolfowitz lectured Asian and African countries on their corruption (as a World Bank president should on its deletrious effects in governance) and yet, by his example, engaged in it, no matter how small it may seems in his mind, and how petty the reactions seem too. It is about the credibility of the World Bank as the premiere lending institution for development in developing countries. Leadership by example still matters.

here is a link - godandscience.org/apologetics/notkill.php
here is part of the text
One thing you have to love about atheists is their extreme appreciation for the King James Version (KJV) translation. The KJV was translated in the early 17th century using an archaic form of modern English. In the last 400 years, English has changed significantly. Unfortunately, the vast majority those who read the KJV (both believers and unbelievers) are unqualified to know what the text means in many instances because of word meaning changes. In attempting to demonstrate the contradiction of God's commands to Israel and the sixth commandment, atheist cite the KJV translation, "Thou shalt not kill."
However, like English, Hebrew, the language in which most of the Old Testament was written, uses different words for intentional vs. unintentional killing. The verse translated "Thou shalt not kill" in the KJV translation, is translated "You shall not murder"2 in modern translations - because these translations represents the real meaning of the Hebrew text. The Bible in Basic English translates the phrase, "Do not put anyone to death without cause."2 The Hebrew word used here is ratsach,3 which nearly always refers to intentional killing without cause (unless indicated otherwise by context). Hebrew law recognized accidental killing as not punishable. In fact, specific cities were designated as "cities of refuge," so that an unintentional killer could flee to escape retribution.4 The Hebrew word for "kill" in this instance is not ratsach, but nakah, which can refer to either premeditated or unintentional killing, depending upon context.5

is there anything in the talmud that tells jews to hate those who are not jews, or tells jews to force conversions on non jews?
what about christians - is there anything that demands that christians covert by force.
im not talking about the after life, or one religion thinking its the best religion, im more concerned to acts demanded in reference treatment of those of other religions?
i think i know the answer but i have not studied the talmud as i have other religious writings.

and for all of you thou shall not kill people, that is not what is written. the actual text of that commandmend is thou shall not MURDER or TAKE INNOCENT LIFE.
if you read the old testament, if killing was not allowed then there would not be any in the old testament.

Hi, remember it is written in 1Samuel 15, "And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants." The strength of Israel speaks His Words and Law. Repentence is for creature sinners who serve other "gods". One can not forgive themselvesf or their actions , sincere expressions of repentance, neither should they seek forgiveness from others. Let G'd do His work, "For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants."

Those apologies that are forms of polite behavior can sometimes be the most valuable. After all, an apology is acknowledging the hurt or inconvenience of another, admitting that you caused it, and indicating that you wish you hadn't. The quick "sorry" when you run into someone in the street is an instant reaction that doesn't wait for anyone to demand an apology. Depending on the tone of voice, it can inject an increasingly rare note of civility into daily life. After all the basis of civility and politeness is consideration for others.

Dear Adin, some things are self-evident. However, self-interest usually determines how we behave. Often it overrides ethics if the two are in conflict. Humankind is very adept at constructing excuses and rationalising why indecencies are not bothersome to the conscience. If we want to improve society then it needs to be more caring and respectful of others. Altruism would go a long way to improving relationships because by such an act we show others respect and caring. It is treating another with decency.
