Life is good. That about sums it up. There are many ways in which life can be good, and I have been blessed with quite a few of them.
I have spent the past sixteen years raising four intelligent, warm-hearted, spirited daughters who are a daily joy and inspiration. It gives me great satisfaction to see them living some of the many principles that I have tried to inspire in them -- being kind to others, standing for justice, living their lives with honesty, self-respect, compassion, and balance.
My career as a writer is progressing at a decent pace. I have the pride of having accomplished significant goals, both in non-fiction and fiction, and the pleasure of being on the road to achieving those that I still hope to acheive.
Spiritually, I am at a comfortable place. My own beliefs fulfill my desire to feel more connected to the Divine and more open to the needs of the world. They satisfyingly blend the values I was raised with within the framework of a religion. I have found a community of like-minded Muslims, who share my values, my approach, and my concerns, and who are committed to working towards improvement within the Muslim community as well as within American society.
Sure, there are things which are not perfect, but over all, I cannot complain in the least.
