Muslims Speak Out

Mustafa Ceric

1. What is Jihad? Under what conditions does Islam sanction the use of violence? What would you tell suicide bombers who invoke Islam to justify their actions? There is a miracle and a puzzle in Muslim history which cannot be...

Another bred (cloned?), born, and brainwashed Muslim and his Islamic thinking about jihad, apostacy and Muslim women and very little about how these "professors", muftis, imams and clerics are "dealing" from a false deck i.e. the flawed foundations of Islam.

Mohammed, an illiterate, hallucinating Arab who also had embellishing/hallucinating scribal biographers who not only added "angels" and flying chariots to the Koran but also a militaristic agenda to support the plundering and looting of the lands of non-believers.

This agenda continues as shown by the conduct of the seven Muslim doctors in the UK, the 9/11 terrorists, the 24/7 Sunni suicide/roadside/market/mosque bombers , the 24/7 Shiite suicide/roadside/market/mosque bombers , the Bali crazies, the Kenya crazies, the Pakistani koranics, the Palestine suicide bombers/rocketeers, the Lebanese nutcases and the Filipino koranics with most of this misery being funded by Iran or the "Wannabees" of Saudi Arabia.

an european understanding? but i agree this understanding much closer to facts than fiction created by semi literates so called scholars who are ignorant of every thing else but their narrow agendas,wish there are many more such voices in this troubled time.

Ask the Serbs about the second-class citizenship or Dhimmitude that is inflicted on non-Moslems in a Moslem state. Moslems would gang-rape Serbian brides before their weddings because they believed they had a right to do so with infidel.

Anonymous:

You are aware anonymous, that the World Court in the Hague very recently ruled that the Serbian leaders of allowed genocide to be inflicted upon the Bosnian people?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Serbia violated international law by failing to prevent genocide, because, though it could have thwarted the massacres, it did not."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Surely no one in their right mind, at this point in history, would suggest that the Serbians were under muslim domination!

An American Muslim:

Thank you very much for this contribution, and I am happy that you (Mr. Ceric) contributed to this discussion.

It hurts me to read some of the comments/responses from the readers regarding the articles that have been written by you and other Muslims. And I am embarrassed and astonished at some people's ignorance and hatred.

I grew up in Bosnia, lived through a horrific war, had more than half of my family slaughtered because they were Muslims. But never in my dreams would I hold the entire Christian faith responsible for what happened there. It was a group of hateful fanatics who killed and displaced one third of Bosnian population -- because they were Muslims.

For those who think that Islam is a faith of violence, and that all Muslims are religious fanatics, I would suggest to look beyond what they think Islam is. Look at Bosnia, go there if possible, and see how Muslims live there. Go to Istanbul, visit the city and see for your self.

Please, let us stop looking at the past and the wrongs that have been committed hundreds of years ago. Have an open mind and engage in constructive dialog. We can all look at history and find various instance in which Christians wronged Muslims, and vice versa. Why can't we look at the ways we are similar: we all want to be free, alive, good, happy,... We agree that there is God (which ever name we assign Him), and that we are accountable for our actions to Him.

The violence you see committed by people who claim that it was done in the name of Islam, is not Islam. They are simply murderers who will stop at nothing; they have perverted this religion, and perverted its most basic rule: no killings and no suicides.

Finally, I am happy that a non-Arab contribute to the discussion, because while Muslims all over the world are similar, we are also very different from each other in our traditions and the ways we practice Islam. Your input here is appreciated and much needed.

Why is the conflict: WEST VERSUS ISLAM?

Why is entire Islam against the West? I can understand a region based conflict or disagreement. Why is it that the entire Islam will take it personally if a western nation fights a war against some country that also happens to be a muslim state?

Mustafa Ceric, has done very well in giving good anology of the bible and Kuran with comparison of words and real meaning as against preception and interpretation of kuran by Wahibi islam by saudi kingdom. I have read histroy and have found both islam and Christanity was spread in the world by conquest of other kingdoms thru sword. And when the conquerers prosucated the people to become christians or muslims or put them to death if they did not comply. Have not come across budhist or jewish or hindus converting others. even today pope's passion is to convert people around world and have christian kingdom over the whole world, and so also saudi's passion to convert people to islam to rule the world.
Only if we could get more scholars like Musafa Ceric in this world in all religions, world will be much happier place to live. we see so much diparity of wealth in this world, and instead of spending energy and money to inprove lives of poor people in africa, india, bangladesh and latin america etc world is spending more money on arms and wars this money could be used for betterment of human society. we know we cant all the time get Gandhi and Martin Luther jr King, and mother Teresa.

Dependent on Middle East Oil.
Dependent on Middle East Prophets.

Neither Mohammad nor Jesus nor Moses was born in London, Paris, or New York.

Notwithstanding the great advance in Science and technology the West is still dependent on the legacy of Abraham the father of all Middle East Prophets.

This is why Mohammad is the most successful and the most influential man in the history of mankind.

No dummy this dhimmi:

The esteemed mufti was asked whether there is compulsion in Islam. Of course, we know well the answer: Apostasy is punishable by death. In fact, all five major schools of Islamic jurisprudence agree that a sane male apostate must be executed. But the good mufti, engages in some obfuscation when answering the question by first:

1) Employing the use of a logical fallacy (in this case Tu qoque), by first making it clear that some adherents (Spanish) of another religion (Christianity) did in the middle ages somehow exculpates Muslims from their unchanged rule of death for apostates from their cult. (Interesting that he failed to mention that Spain had been invaded and conquered by Moslems in the 8th century, and that it was that act that led Spain to finally expel them.)

2) The mentioning of the “no compulsion in religion” is considered weak and another means of obfuscating the truth about apostasy. Indeed the no compulsion clause is deemed abrogated by nearly all Muslim scholars. Clearly, the spirit of the Quran is one of compulsion of religion. It is done away with by nashk.

3) Then we see the specious argument about not having any priests in Islam. Relevance?

4) Next we are entertained with tributes to MLK and the likening of Islam with the black cause. This too is specious as Islam is not a race. Good going Mufti!

5) Last, the gem: Of course, the crime of treason should be dealt with in accordance to the just laws of the land. That is what apostasy is to them, treason. And the penalty is death. Thanks for admitting it in the last sentence. And it only took him dozens of paragraphs to come to that simple conclusion!

It is not the koran but who "wrote" the koran.

A short synopsis of the foundations of the OT, NT and the koranic book of death:

1. Abraham founder/father of three major religions was probably a mythical character. If he was real, he was at best a combination of at least three men. 1.5 million Conservative Jews and their rabbis have relegated Abraham to the myth pile along with most if not all the OT.

2. Jesus, the illiterate Jewish peasant/carpenter possibly suffering from hallucinations, has been characterized anywhere from the Messiah from Nazareth to a mythical character from mythical Nazareth. Analyses of his life by many contemporary NT scholars (e.g. Professors Crossan, Borg and Fredriksen, On Faith panelists)via the NT and related documents have concluded that only about 30% of Jesus' sayings and ways noted in the NT were authentic. The rest being embellishments (e.g. miracles)/hallucinations made/had by the NT authors to impress various Christian/Jewish/Pagan sects.

3. Mohammed, an illiterate, hallucinating Arab, also had embellishing/hallucinating scribal biographers who not only added "angels" and flying chariots to the Koran but also a militaristic agenda to support the plundering and looting of the lands of non-believers.
This agenda continues as shown by the conduct of the seven Muslim doctors in the UK, the 9/11 terrorists, the 24/7 Sunni suicide/roadside/market/mosque bombers , the 24/7 Shiite suicide/roadside/market/mosque bombers , the Bali crazies, the Kenya crazies, the Pakistani koranics, the Palestine suicide bombers/rocketeers, the Lebanese nutcases and the Filipino koranics with much of the misery being supported by blood/oil money from Iran.

4. Luther, Calvin, Smith, Henry VIII, Wesley et al, founders of Christian-based religions, also suffered from the belief in/hallucinations of "pretty wingy thingie" visits and "prophecies" for profits analogous to the myths of Catholicism (resurrections, apparitions, ascensions and immaculate conceptions).

Promoter of Moderate Intellectuals:

I suggest the removal of offensive and abrasive comments directed at a quarter of the world's population. This person's (Concerned The Christian Now Liberated) sole purpose of commenting is not the exchange of intelligent ideas but instigating and offending others based on their religion and ethnicity. Why is it that sexism and racism are not tolerated in our society but Islamo-bashing is? It is truly sad that in this day and age people cannot exchange ideas without resorting to insults and hate speech. Shame on you!

Mustafa Ceric wrote:

I hope though that the women around the world will rise to proclaim their own peaceful submission to the will of God in which is the moral law of modesty in the sense that there is no women’s freedom to the extreme of pornography and that there is no women’s protection to the extent of slavery.

In response, I wonder how pornography is defined... I personally would define it as attire and behavior deliberately intended to provoke men sexually. I would not include dressing to be comfortable, such as by wearing tank tops and shorts on a hot day (and relying on modern sunscreen lotions rather than on clothing for protection against the sun).

I also wonder in what ways, in a modern society, women need male protection? In America, for example, are hosts of men on camels and horses going to come burn my house down and carry me off? Even if that were a remotely likely scenario, we now live in a world in which any 10-year-old can pull the trigger on an automatic weapon; surely women in general do not need specifically male protection against attack. I can mount a machine gun on my roof as well as the next person, should it become necessary. That is to say, a conflict involving male protection of women would likely involve weapons that do not require a lot of physical strength to use (we are a long way from spear throwing) and that therefore do not require men to employ them.

This particular role for men is obsolete and men need to adapt their behavior and their treatment of women accordingly. Of course, women also need to adapt their expectations and start behaving with the knowledge that they are fully capable of protecting themselves.

Similarly, in modern society, women are no longer incapacitated by childbearing. We have few children, and therefore childbearing itself takes at most a few years, so it's not as we're spending decades having babies and chasing toddlers around. That again speaks to a reduced need for male protection during such a period of heightened vulnerability. Indeed, even when we are pregnant, we often stay quite fit. I cross-country skied for a minimum of 4 miles a day during my first pregnancy, for example, switching to snowshoeing only during the very last weeks.

I cannot imagine a situation in which I would require male protection.

At the outside, what females in some cultures may require protection from is the bad behavior of men. The best response would be to culturally reengineer these men.
