Josef Sefton:

Precious searcher for truth Julia Neuberger, the two verses you quote refer to God addressing
Jesus Christ.

It was God who called Jesus Christ in righteousness.

The tender language of God committing Himself to hold Jesus Christ's hand and support Him refers to His phenomenal protective and supportive love toward His beloved.

God's plan is for us to trust and obey Christ.

God's glorious plan is to lead His creation in the paths of righteousness to trust and obey Christ, as God, His righteous Redeemer.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

He opens man's spiritually blind eyes.

He brings the prisoners of Satan out of Satan's prison.

He brings those who dwell in the darkness of the devil's dungeon into the glorious light of God's presence.

True lovers of God look to Christ's triumph on the cross and non singers suddenly discover that they have a singing voice that loves to praise God's best, Jesus Christ Our cherished Friend of Friends.
