Perhaps We Can Learn Something About Ourselves

What is the goal of conversation? The Qur'an states that God created us in our different communities "so we can know each other." We can read these words in many ways, one of which is that we can engage with...

DELIVER A MESSIAH "MISTAKEN IDENTITY" BY AGRON BELICA.

INTERESTING STUFF, THANK YOU.

PaPa:

Deliver a Messiah "Mistaken Identity" By Agron Belica--Authorhouse Publishing Co.

Albanian Muslim Author brings new theory..

About the Book
Deliver A Messiah, "Mistaken Identity" by Agron Belica brings forth an elaborative examination of who was put on the cross. Many theories suggest that the son of Mary (aka Jesus Christ) was not the person placed on the cross, but someone other than Jesus Christ himself. The author takes you through an examination paving ways of new insight of who might have been put on the cross.
To contribute to the present work, the author investigated and researched to seek the truth about the assumptive facts leading up to what people of Christendom believe to be the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Bible and the Koran are the main resources used as references formally presented in use of persuasive arguments and theories of why the author strongly does not believe that the son of Mary was killed nor crucified.
The author has made every effort to be as unbiased and objective in presenting the facts and interpreting the events in this present work. The author is not trying to stir up controversy, but only wishes to lead people towards what might be considered the truth about the events believed about the crucifixion. The author strongly believes that the prevailing powers during that era have camouflaged the truth. The cover-up of the crucifixion with a false pretext was to lead the masses of people in the past and at present to believe, that the son of Mary was really crucified, by the leading elite that was influenced by the Jewish religious hierarchy at that time.

THE COVER UP? UMM....

Verse Infinitum:

It's a great achievement for Islamic leaders and scholars as well as Newsweek and the Washington post to present this imperative opportunity for inter cultural and global philosophical dialogue. What's important is that by exchanging our ideas and comments regarding inter religious relations and world events that affect our views of each other as fellow human beings. Since the advent of humanity, We strove to make sense of the world we live in and the lives we've experienced. Worldwide curiosities to learn the true nature of life and our universe is an exceptionally rare virtue upon life on Earth. In other words, we're the only known species on the planet who've pursued to unravel these great mysteries and developed written philosophies based upon our understanding of the world around us.
One such philosophy that lasted throughout the ages of humanity is commonly known as religion and spirituality. Ever since our early belief in the Sky God and the God Mother from ancient Pagan times, we vigorously pursued to unravel the truth about our most profound questions. As any educated person would know that religion and their core beliefs or faith have evolved over time. Paganism, Monotheism and Polytheism have been influenced by humanity as these great philosophies have influenced our perceptions and decisions in life over the ages. Over time humanity has embraced diverse religious faiths and spiritual convictions that continue to influence our behavior in our times and most likely beyond.
What's vital for humanity's progress and even survival is to know the true nature of faith itself. To understand the true origins of faith. But most of all, is to accept the truth for whatever it may be. Each one of us will learn the absolute truth once we die. But until that time comes for anyone of us to depart this world, we really don't know the answer to God's existence nor do we have the absolute truth in regards to the true nature of God. Besides if we did possess the truth, there would've been only one religion on Earth with no diversification of any way, shape of form. There would only be one holy scripture written throughout human history.
Considering one's religious faith to be absolute, while considering others to be false would be ethnocentric at best. While collectively searching to unravel the mysteries on nature, life and the universe through sincere reasoning and serious research would be enlightening at its worst. Most importantly, we must accept the fact is that none of us have conclusive evidence to confirm our core beliefs and there's always an immanent change that our most cherished beliefs could be wrong. Our greatest challenge would be to tolerate the truth no matter what it may ultimately be. With such an open mind, we would be able to overcome any future discovery that would contradict our faith regarding the true nature of life, spirituality and divinity.
Humanity does have the ability to achieve such a social achievement. However, it's solely up to humanity and not any other entity or groups of entities to decide our destinies. Each one of us has a choice to make; either hopelessly engaging into meaningless inter cultural conflicts or combine our scientific and cultural gifts to thrive into an enlightened global civilization that could ultimately expand beyond our solar system. The choice is yours, and the time to make it is now!

Ingrid,

What do the following verses of the Qur'an and supporting hadith texts mean? Please provide the correct context and explain what Muslim children understand by these scriptures when they study them in school, as they are required to do as part of a standard Islamic education:

Qur’an Chapter 2 Verse 65:
And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (Jews): We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected."

Ishaq: 250
The bestial transformation occurred when Allah turned Jews into apes, despised.

Tabari VIII: 28
When the Messenger approached the Jews, he said, ‘You brothers of apes! Allah shamed you and cursed you.’

Qur’an Chapter 5 Verse 14:
From those too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the Message that was sent to them: so We estranged them, with enmity and hatred between one and the other, to the Day of Judgment. And soon will Allah show them what they have done.

Qur’an Chapter 5 Verse 41:
…Jews, - men who will listen to any lie…For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment.

Qur’an Chapter 5 Verse 82:
Strongest among men in enmity (hatred) to the believers (Muslims) wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans.

Ishaq: 262
Some Muslims remained friends with the Jews, so Allah sent down a Qur’an forbidding them to take Jews as friends. From their mouths hatred has already shown itself and what they conceal is worse.

Qur’an Chapter 5 Verse 51:
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them.

Qur’an Chapter 3 Verse 28:
Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution (prevention), that ye may Guard yourselves from them (prevent them from harming you.) But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah. [This verse teaches Muslims not to make friends with unbelievers, but allows them to feign friendship with unbelievers in order to prevent harm befalling themselves]

Ingrid, all Muslim children are required to study the above verses of the Qur'an as part of a standard Islamic education. Please tell your readers how these verses are explained to Muslim children.

Graham E. Morbey:

Ingrid Mattson illustrates for me a deep interfaith melding, Christianity and her adopted Muslim faith. This mix has brought about a kind-spirited and compassionate woman.

Theologically, the meld will be an ongoing tension for her and her adopted community.

I believe what lies behind this tension is the radical difference between the Biblical story which can be understood as a six-act play: Act 1 is creation; Act 2 is the fall; Act 3 is the history of Israel, Act 4 is the story of Jesus, his death and resurrection; Act 5 is the the story of the church; Act 6 is the coming new creation when we will live with God on the new earth (The Banner, March 2007).

The Quran is a completely different genre! To really know what it says (as far as that is possible) one must know Arabic. The Bible is just as authoritative in any of the approx. 1400 languages it has been translated into.

Christians and Muslims need to share with each other to a much greater extent their most basic texts, Bible and Quran and forget for a while most commentaries and hadiths.

Jordan,
Becareful about what you are so sure about. It can become embarrassing later in life when you become more educated and have to go around "eating humble pie." One gets tired of even the sweetest of pies.

Then why is there a death penalty for apostates of islam in countries following the sharia law ?

INGRID wrote:

Then why are christians/jews treated as dhimmi's in islamic countries ? And a worse treatment for other religions ?

Why did Mohammed attack the jewish communities in mecca ? Did'nt Mohammed read or understand the quran ?

Victoria:

OOOPS--- MY COMPUER MUST BE SLOW- I THOUGHT THE POST DIDNT GET THROUGH. TALK ABOUT REDUNDANCY!

Victoria:

Yes< Jordan, unequivically if one forgets ALLAH in this life, then ALLAH will not remember them in the afterlife. I will temper this with saying that only ALLAH knows what is in one's heart, though.

Here's 2 of my favoritest stories.

There was a hijab wearing woman who said all her prayers on time and outwardly appeared to be a model muslimah. But she kept a cat tied to a post where it could not even get food or water for itslef and so it died. When the woman died she went to Hell.

And there was another woman who was a jewish prostitute and she came upon a dog dying of thirst. She took her shoe and gave the dog some water in it. When she died she went to paradise for her act of compassion. YaaaYY!!!!

Here's one of my fave Qu'ran quotes...

VERILY MY MERCY OVERCOMES MY ANGER.

I hope this was real enough for you.

P.S. SISTER INGRID WOULD YOU PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS HEARTFELT APPEAL BY JORDAN?
peace

Victoria:

If one forgets about God in this life, then they will not be remebered in the afterlife.
But take hope friend because only ALLAH truly knows. These are my favoritest stories.

Forgive me if I dont remeber them exactly perfectly.
There was a woman who said every prayer on time and dressed like a perfect example of Islam and to outward appearances she seemed to be a model muslimah- but she had a cat that she kept tied to a stake in the ground thereby preventing it from procuring its own food or drink and it died of thirst and starvation. At her death she went to Hell.

And then there was a woman who was a jewish prostitute, (in Islam this would be 2 strikes against her as a candidate for heaven) and she saw a dog with its tongue hanging out and parched from thirst, so she took her shoe and gave the dog some water, and for this act of compassion she went to paradise. YaaaaY!!!!!
Only ALLAH can udge the state of a person's heart friend

VERILY MY MERCY OVERCOMES MY ANGER.
Hopeful, isn't it?
peace

P.S. SISTER INGRID, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS HEARTFELT APPEAL BY JORDAN.

jordan:

what do you think about non-believers? in your honest opinion (and dont worry about being pc here), are they going to hell? What about christians? are they? if you answer 'no' or 'i dont know' you are explicitly contradicting the Qur'an.

Please, can anyone besides Sam Harris be sincere? PLEASE!

stop trying to sound nice and be real!!!!
