Obama's Faith Advisory Group To Hold First Meeting
By Michelle Boorstein
The council created to advise President Obama on faith-based issues will hold its first official meetings via conference calls next month.
The White House didn't issue a press release to reporters who cover the Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, but did post the required public notice saying the 25-member advisory council will hold two calls. One will be June 4 and the other June 16.
The agenda isn't yet clear, but a White House spokesman said sub-groups of the council will make recommendations at the meetings. The sub-groups stand for Obama's priorities for his faith-based office: to help ease poverty, reduce abortions, support responsible fatherhood and bolster interfaith efforts, among other things.
