My relationship with God has been sort of distant lately.
I have always liked Him, but we only really got together late one night last August in my central Jerusalem apartment. For a while we were inseparable. Whenever I was happy or sad or needed help, I would turn to Him. As this school year progressed though, things came between us. I got too busy and stressed to devote time to Him. I would try to deal with my issues alone, shutting Him out. When I did try to talk to Him, it wasn’t with the same excitement and candor that I had before. Things became mundane and I started having commitment issues.
We need to spice up our relationship. We need a getaway where the two of us can be close and I can get back to Him free from the outside pressures of my life.
Good thing I’m leaving for three and a half weeks in Israel on Wednesday.

How anyone chooses to describe their relationship to God is nobody's business. Critics could well be projecting their own interpretations on to someone else. It doesn't occur to them that God is infinite and beyond description, truly the only Eternal Being who can be all things to all people.
Harold, if you are quoting Scripture that is available online, why not provide the link in order to keep your posts a little shorter? The personal comments you post in between the verses might easily be missed when you post so much Scripture you know.

I think what she meant by "relationship" with GOD is that she is in fellowship with Him.

Hi... ummm.. i sorta agree with this Andrew dude.
To me it sounds like you and God got in on in your apartment "late one night last August". It just sounds a little odd to say you're in a relationship with the big man in the sky.... because, who knows if thats what God is. God is in everything..... and even apparently your bedroom.

Hi... umm... I sort of struggle with the idea of being "in a relationship" with God because you're really making it sound like submitting to a man in a relationship.
Perhaps you should see God as a friend or atleast use a different metaphor than "relationship" for the way you and God spend your time together.
Just another viewpoint.
