Last week I voted in my first presidential primary, in Massachusetts. My mom and step-dad voted too. Each of us voted with concern for what would be “good for the Jews,” and yet we voted for three different candidates.
Reading this week for class about American Muslim efforts to have their concerns taken seriously by politicians made me realize what a lucky situation my people are in.
The “good for the Jews” hurdle has been jumped. Most major candidates are considered "good for the Jews" and we now have the ability to express our opinions on other, broader issues. We've got options and it feels good.
