Judeo-Christo-Fascism Awareness Week?

Check out Rabbi Arthur Waskow’s “Shalom Center,” where this absolutely ridiculous “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week,” is turned on its head.

When the imaginary feature film sent out for use in this imaginary Week - which focused on the disgusting Christian-led war that killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and the disgusting Jewish-led killing of Muslim children by airplane bombing raids on Gaza - also included interviews with a few peacenik Quakers, Methodists, and left-wing Jews, criticizing that war and those bombings, did you relax, feeling it was a balanced presentation of Judaism and Christianity?

Apparently, 200 university and college campuses nation-wide are hosting events to up people’s awareness of Islamo-Fascism. Terrorism Watch boasts “3,193,193 unique visitors since January 31, 2007.”

“Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is a national effort to oppose these lies and to rally American students to defend their country.”

What our country needs to defend itself from is the onslaught of religious provocateurs who have never spent a day anywhere in the Middle East (except, perhaps, Israel), spoken to probably half a dozen Muslims in their life and who in citing a couple Qur’anic verses and sections from Hamas’ charter say they have made a broad study of the Islamic world.

All religious faiths have a fascist streak built into them: anything that claims ultimate authority on The Truth probably can convince some of its followers to be unrelenting and uncompromising in their quest to honor a Higher Power.

There is the Inquisition, the Jewish hyper-orthodox settler complex, Hindu genocide in East Pakistan, the mish-mash of animist, Christian and Muslim groups slaughtering each other in the Sudan, and Christopher Hitchens.

So if all religions do these sorts of things, why call it “Islamo-fascism?” Why not just “Fascism” on its face? The “threat” perceived by David Horowitz and his ilk is Islamic in its packaging but eternal at the core: when What We Think We Know becomes an idol of whom no questions can be asked, the human race tends to do quite poorly.

Of course, I wouldn’t go to the David Horowitz Freedom Center for any lessons on that. They propose to know “What Really Happened in the Middle East,” and all about “Jimmy Carter’s War Against the Jews.”

Gilles Kepel advances a thesis that we have seen the height of Islamist movements already. While I don’t have time to go into it here, I sincerely doubt (and dread) the fact that we may be seeing the height of returning Islamist rhetoric in kind.

Quick post-script: Has anyone been to one of these Islamo-fascism awareness events? There are, unfortunately, none at the American University in Cairo. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

The more I read and hear the words of those who are "telling it like it is", from both sides of the "science-religion" gulf, I am reminded of some very wise words: "Follow the man who seeks the truth...When he says he has found it, RUN LIKE HELL!"

Marianne

A great photo of Laura. Many of my friends found it hard to spot her! She should get out more often in such neighbourhoods. After all they are all American run these days, paid for by your taxes and our freedom.

However, it was much harder for my friends to spot George who is also in this photo, believe it or not. He is the third from left, always relying on Laura and trying to cuddle up to her for protection. You don't know who is vying for your blood. Best to go in disguise when in such neighborhoods. It also prevents the local press from wanting answers from you especially if you are not so eloquent in the local customs and the profundity of the English language. They really twist everything.

Bless them. Rule America is replacing the old Rule Britannia. We are getting used to such changes, if only you could go slowly with the 'surge' and your Islamo-fascist business.

Cheers buddy and take it easy ma man. Kisses, we love you too.

David Horror-witz and his twin Daniel Pipes venom throwers are true jewish facists-they have been engaged in a vicious campagin to smear Islam and incite American public opinion against American Muslims.Nothing would please these haters more than conflict between Muslims and the Wets-it is the stupid zero sum theory:any harm done to Muslims is good for the jews and israel, which will distract from israel racist apartheid jewish theocracy and state terrorism.

Horror-witz Inc. and his guys at AIPAC should now focus on israel's apartheid regime and its terrorist gangs still tormenting the Palestinians to this very day.
