Divine Impulses: Harry Jackson

Bishop Harry Jackson is no stranger to controversy.

The Christian leader is an outspoken critic of abortion and gay marriage. He is also a registered Democrat. And although his political theology has put him at odds with members of his own party, including presumed Democratic nominee Barack Obama, Jackson is hopeful that evangelicals are entering a new political and spiritual age.

“The church –Black, White, Hispanic –has finally got to bring itself together and say ‘Here are issues we are really concerned about and here’s how we shed Democratic or Republican labeling,’” he said in an interview with On Faith’s Sally Quinn.

Jackson is senior pastor of Hope Christian Church in the Washington, DC area and is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Business School. He recently co-authored a book with noted evangelical Tony Perkins, titled “Personal Faith, Public Policy.”

»Watch Bishop Harry Jackson talk about being born again, the role of religion in politics, the black church and his perspective on biblical principles of morality in the Divine Impulses religion interview series with On Faith’s Sally Quinn.

NO religion owns God and NO church owns Jesus, who PROMISED that the PEACEMAKERS are the children of God -Matthew 5:9

NOT those that bomb, torture or occupy others!

There are NO scriptures attributed to Jesus about homosexuality, so if Jesus was MUTE regarding the mystery of gay and lesbian love, apparently the way two consenting adults give, take and share love was NOT a problem for the Prince of Peace!

Christian's supposedly believe that God is LOVE; so, where ever there is love; God is already there and no state or institution has any right to interfere what goes on behind the closed doors of two consenting adults.

But, Jesus did have a lot to say-and got flaming angry at the arrogant self-righteous hypocrites who held power over the poor and oppressed.

We have got a lot of VERY bad religion in the USA, and what we lack is spirituality-that which connects us to The Divine within ourself-all others-and all of creation.

Jesus was never a Christian; in fact the term 'Christian' was not even coined until the days of Paul, about 3 decades after Jesus walked the earth as a man.

Jesus was a social justice, radical revolutionary Palestinian devout Jewish road warrior who rose up and challenged the job security of the Temple authorities by teaching the people they did NOT need to pay the priests for ritual baths or sacrificing livestock to be OK with God;

For God already LOVED them just as they were: sinners, poor, diseased, outcasts, widows, orphans, refugees and prisoners all living under Roman Military Occupation.

What got Jesus crucified was disturbing the status quo of the Roman Occupying Forces of his time, by teaching the subversive concept that Caesar only had power because God allowed it and that God preferred the humble sinner, the poor, diseased, outcasts, widows, orphans, refugees and prisoners all living under Roman Occupation above the elite and arrogant.

The early followers and lovers of Jesus were called members of THE WAY-being THE WAY he taught one should be;

Nonviolent, a Peacemaker and one who did the will of the Father, and "What does God require? He has told you o'man! Be just, be merciful, and walk humbly with your Lord." -Micah 6:8

Imagine what a wonderful world it would be, if all Christians actually followed and did what Jesus said!

jesue christ, our living GOD.He did not have dreams or hallucinatins as the person suggests. He was, is and always will be the Son of the Living God and the Bible is the whole proof and without error in anyway.There is only 1 way to Heaven and that is thru the name of Jesus Christ, good works will not get you there. He did none of these rotten things this other person talks about. I have studied prophecy and I believe 100%. If you don't believe that is fine, He still loves you and I do too.

He has trolled endless sites on the web to promote this illness.
My post at least recognize this worm as an infective virus that has no other purpose but to create dissention and divisiveness.

The Curse of Jeremiah Wrights
Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and others all represent the curse of reverse discrimination, the tail wagging the dog, the animals running the farm, the serious consequences for White Israelite disobedience to God (Deuteronomy 28:43).

Thank you Bishop Jackson-

For speaking the simple Truth without embellishment and for giving us your testimony- an example for all Christian believers.

Matthew 10:39

Revelation 12:11

Concerned The Christian Now Liberated:

For the Rev. Jackson's eyes only i.e. a wake-up call:

2. Jesus was an illiterate Jewish peasant/carpenter/simple preacher man who suffered from hallucinations and who has been characterized anywhere from the Messiah from Nazareth to a mythical character from mythical Nazareth to a mamzer from Nazareth (Professor Bruce Chilton, in his book Rabbi Jesus). Analyses of Jesus’ life by many contemporary NT scholars (e.g. Professors Crossan, Borg and Fredriksen, On Faith panelists) via the NT and related documents have concluded that only about 30% of Jesus' sayings and ways noted in the NT were authentic. The rest being embellishments (e.g. miracles)/hallucinations made/had by the NT authors to impress various Christian, Jewish and Pagan sects.

The 30% of the NT that is "authentic Jesus" like everything in life was borrowed/plagiarized and/or improved from those who came before. In Jesus' case, it was the ways and sayings of the Babylonians, Greeks, Persians, Egyptians, Hittites, Canaanites, OT, John the Baptizer and possibly the ways and sayings of traveling Greek Cynics. earlychristianwritings.com/theories.html

For added "pizzazz", Catholic/Christian theologians divided god the singularity into three persons and invented atonement as an added guilt trip for the "pew people" to go along with this trinity of overseers. By doing so, they made god the padre into god the "filicider".

Current Crises:

Pedophiliac priests, atonement theology and original sin!!!!

3. Luther, Calvin, Smith, Henry VIII, Wesley et al, founders of Christian-based religions, also suffered from the belief in/hallucinations of "pretty wingie thingie" visits and "prophecies" for profits analogous to the myths of Catholicism (resurrections, apparitions, ascensions and immaculate conceptions).

Current Crises:

Adulterous preachers, "propheteering/ profiteering" evangelicals and atonement theology.
