That a candidate for President would suggest amending the Constitution to bring it in line with a narrow and sectarian understanding of Christianity would be appalling to our founders.

This woman is a pervert lobbying to get her perversion enshrined as law.
Let's look at a few of her dishonest tactics:
- In paragraph 2 she brings up religious plurality, but conveniently omits that on this issue of marriage, there is unanimous affirmation of heterosexual marriage. This is one amendment no religion would object to.
- Irrelevancies: "Jesus was not a family man". What does that have to do with anything? Does one need to have children before one can say child abuse is wrong? But in any case he was celibate. So in this aspect of his life he actually supports Biblical sexual ethics, as well as his teaching in Mt 19.
- Ipse dixit: "There is little consistency in the Bible." Well I guess that settles it then! Actually, there is great consistency (1 Ti 3:12, Mt 19, Gen 2:24).
- Equivocation: is she talking about the issue of monogamy, or homosexuality/bestiality/incest, etc.
The dishonesty of these people should give you pause. If their cause is truly righteous, why do they have to stoop this low?
Perhaps Genesis 19 should be taken all of a piece. You cannot separate the perverted act itself from any of the other aspects of the behavior exhibited there, as liberals seem anxious to do.

Solomon had 300 wives and 1000 concubines. That would surely interest many in the public to adopt Biblical principles. Gets Mitt Romney off the hook for sure.
The great thing about slaughtering animals as sacrifice is that you get to eat them after they're roasted. Another bonus point.
God told the Israelites to bring wine or any strong drink when they went up to Jerusalem each year, and to celebrate before the Lord. They played timbrels, harps, and shofars and danced. Everybody loves to party. Double bonus.
Leaving the land to stand fallow for one year every seven years would make a great vacation for our overworked farmers. Bonus.
Absolving all debts and indentures every Jubilee would free many families of over-extended credit. Ding ding! Bonus.
Sure, there are some downsides, but you know, with 300 wives...
Of course I'm being facetious, and Huckleberry Bee was only pandering for votes.

Ranger:
Again, WHY did these people have no knowledge of the "God of Abraham" that created them? Did they have this knowledge at one time and lose it?

Tommy,
In most, if not all, of the stops along Cook's voyage the peoples acknowledged and worshipped some form of a god. We all know the famous story of him being worshipped as Lono, the Hawaiian god, during his travels there. The peoples did not worship the Christian, Muslim or Hindu gods, but in nearly every instance they had a form of religion that centered on an individual god, or a set of gods under one supreme god. Of course, Cook was neither a historian nor a theologian so his records would be inadequate regardless. I would look the the countless others (especially anthropologists) who followed Cook and catalogued the worship characteristics of these peoples.

Josef Seton:
If "He was involved in creating man and woman", why is it that He is unknown, both now and in the past, to so many men and women?
For example, during Captain James Cook's voyages of discovery across the Pacific in the 1700s, none of the peoples he encountered had knowledge of the "eternal God". Why not?

The holy Bible speaks with one consistent, clear voice and that voice is holy God's voice.
Holy God states very clearly that He is man's Matchmaker and that He draws man and woman together in holy marriage.
Jesus Christ was and always has been a family man. As eternal God He was involved in creating man and woman and gave us the institution of marriage as an opportunity for great blessing.
Open the Holy Bible again, Diana, and you will discover that God has established the family and works faithfully; so that it blossoms.
God is also desirous to bring those longing to honour Him into His eternal family.

But, but, but my folks told me that there was no god.
They said it was all made up. And you are telling me that there IS a god? But WHERE is this godfella?
In ones mind, is my guess. Unless my parents were mistaken. And I simply cannot believe they were wrong. Perish the thought.
