Who Was Jesus?
Do you believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God? If so, what exactly does that mean? If not, who was he?

Jesus went to his death in the belief that this was what Israel's God had promised to do, by himself, to take cosmic evil and human sin on himself and so deal with it once and for all.

Jesus cannot be seen as a God by Muslims because divinity is confined to the Creator and no human being can enter that realm of divinity.

Jesus being the Son of God does NOT mean that Christians are better, more right, more righteous, more moral, more blessed, more destined to win battles, or more suited to govern and decide political matters than non-Christians.

Definition of "Son of God" Is Personal
The Gospels are documents of faith, transmitting faith and can only be completely understood in faith.

Jesus Is a Call to Action
I see the Christmas story and the deification of Jesus not as a statement of historical fact or an abstract religious doctrine. Like all religious teaching it is a call to action.

For those of us who are Christian, Jesus is the decisive revelation of God’s character and passion...the Son who discloses the Father, the light who shines in our darkness, the Lord who comes each Christmas.
